Temperature is an important factor affecting the growth, development and survival of marine organisms. A short episode high temperature has been proven to be a severe threat sustainable shellfish culture. Zhikong scallop (Chlamys farreri), with broad economic biological value in North China, frequently experienced heat stress summer recent years. To understand effects on shellfish, metabolism C. farreri was analyzed after exposure 27 °C for either 6 h or 30 d. After exposure, total 326 264 significantly different metabolites (SDMs) were identified gill mantle tissues, respectively. d 381 341 SDMs found These mainly related amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids nucleotides. decline pyruvic acid, increase citric acid fumaric gills indicated alteration energy metabolism, which may attributed increased ATP production order overcome stress. Among SDMs, 33 metabolites, including glycine selected as potential biomarkers response farreri. In addition, glutamine β-Alanine levels oxidative exposed heat, well antioxidant capacity (T-AOC). Our findings suggested have adapt by regulating capacity.

Water temperature plays a crucial role in the growth, survival, and reproduction of fish species, as they make up majority aquatic fauna. In this study, effects low were studied on functional state juvenile golden pompano ( Trachinotus ovatus ) under low-temperature stress. The study was conducted at 28°C control group 18°C cold for 14 d to determine intestinal tissue, digestive antioxidant enzyme activities, metabolites fish. results showed that: (1) swelling degree muscle layer deepened congested with longer stress period. folds sparse, from slight shedding deformation. mucosa necrotic had vacuoles, number gradually increased. Serious erosion villi occurred. (2) specific activities enzymes downward trend. (3) superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, malondialdehyde (MDA) content, glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity an upward catalase (CAT) (4) Compared group, there 28 showing significant differences, among which Z, 11Z, 14Z-eicosatrienoic acid, stearic adrenic acid contrast, spermidine uracil Among enriched metabolic pathways, main differential pathways unsaturated fatty biosynthesis, linoleic metabolism, pyrimidine β-alanine metabolism. According metabolomic analysis, stress, body improved synthesis acids saturated adapt environment consumed improve its immune ability clear peroxide generated by so that cells protected oxidative damage. After days, affected indices pompano. Low-temperature causes changes antioxidants damage tissues. As result exploration how temperatures affect pompano, foundation is laid future studies, such molecular mechanisms adaptation species.

Abstract Salmonids are the third major farmed finfish species after carps and tilapines, thus contribute to global food fish production. However, as aquaculture industry continues grow, several challenges have emerged. Left unchecked, current problems will hinder development. Metabolomics is one of powerful biotechnological tools that solving some pressing problems. This review aims summarise findings identify gaps from studies used metabolomics in salmon research. We extracted methodological information for comparison, highlighted analytical platform usages identified most studied salmonids sample types. reviewed key articles highlight latest research themes. From gaps, future perspectives regarding potential use solve issues ecotoxicology, thermotolerance, nutrition, post‐harvest quality, health disease, husbandry practices provided. The survey also improvements execution protocols aquaculture.

In order to evaluate the effects of carbohydrate levels on growth, glycometabolism, antioxidant capacity and metabolome largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides), two test diets were prepared with 100 g kg−1 α-starch (LS group) 200 (HS respectively. Largemouth an initial weight 7.56 ± 0.02 was fed for 8 weeks. Comparing LS group, in HS gain (WG), specific growth rate (SGR) feed conversion ratio (FCR) significantly reduced, protein efficiency (PER) improved, plasma aspartate aminotransferase (AST) activity increased significantly, hepatic glycogen content malondialdehyde (MDA) catalase (CAT) gene expression downregulated, while dietary level had no significant effect superoxide dismutase (SOD) expression, ADP dependent glucokinase (ADPGK), phosphofructokinase (PFK), pyruvate kinase (PK) synthesis (GS) statistic difference observed hexokinase (HK), phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) fructose-1, 6-bisphosphatase-1 (FBP1), 3β (GSK3β) decreased significantly. Comparative metabolomic analysis identified 53 positive differential metabolites 40 negative (VIP≥1, p < 0.05) liver between groups. Furthermore, metabolomics indicated that diet high enriched multiple amino acid metabolism pathways affected involved bass. These results suggested high-carbohydrate contained 20% a impact glycometabolism capacity, which may be caused by changes metabolite contents metabolic pathways.
