The application of manure as a fertiliser to farmland is regarded major source veterinary antibiotic (VA) contamination in the environment. frequent detection such emerging contaminants and their potential adverse impacts on ecosystem human health have provoked increasing concern for VA transport fate. Advancing a common understanding about the chemical composition, size, and three-dimensional (3D) structure of dissolved organic matter (DOM) is paramount to deciphering its impact on involvement in environmental processes, such as fate transport contaminants carbon cycling. Understanding the interaction between biocides and heavy metals with dissolved organic matter (DOM) is basis of building runoff treatment facility development. In present study, we aimed to quantitatively determine binding biocides/heavy DOM evaluate effect Cu2 + on biocides-DOM interaction. We hypothesize that prefer bind having a larger molecular weight (MW), this can be inhibited by Cu2+. experiments, was separated into different fractions according their MW difference, then investigated Cu2+, Zn2+, biocides, transformation products (TPs) dialysis equilibrium. According results, Cu2+ found highest affinity for fraction > 100 kDa mean value 2.65 μmol/mgC, which reduced decreasing MW. Zn2+ much weaker than below 0.296 μmol/mgC did not show clear preference Parent showed higher TPs. The followed order mecoprop-p terbutryn diuron. Hydrogen bonding play an important role in binding. Moreover, opposite observed, inhibition fractions> enhancement < kDa. Our findings suggest source control biocides/TPs pollution because relatively high mobility environment expected due limited DOM.
