With the rapid urbanization and population growth, demand for vegetables is increasing day by resulting in increased cultivation area production at expenses of soil fertility. This study aims to assess management practices adopted commercial vegetable farmers changing socioeconomic contexts Bhundrung village, Makawanpur. Participatory rural appraisal tools; Household Questionnaire survey, Focus group discussion, Key informant interview expert consultation were used data collection. Most use farmyard manure (FYM) chemical fertilizer (urea, potash di-ammonium phosphate) maintaining Application decreasing, due large farm size but less number livestock. It has resulted scenario injudicious supply fertilizers with hope increment production. Lack knowledge on dose, handling disposal pesticides threatened degradation water quality outside farm. In context, practice joint decision making laborious activities like nursery bed preparation, field mixing, intercultural operation whereas technology direct money related decided male members. recommends there a need effective extension services sustainable fertility management, finance market access economic benefits gender friendly environment farming.

Pesticide residues in soils can cause negative impacts on soil health as well biota. However, research related to the toxicity and exposure risks of pesticides biota are scarce, especially North China Plain (NCP) where intensively applied. In this study, occurrence distribution 15 commonly used 41 fields Quzhou county NCP were determined during growing season 2020. The ecological biota, including earthworms, enchytraeids, springtails, mites nitrogen mineralization microorganisms, assessed using ratios (TERs) risk quotient (RQ) methods. Based pesticide detection rates RQs, hazards ranked Hasse diagram. results showed that concentrated 0-2 cm depth. Chlorantraniliprole was most frequently detected with a rate 37%, while highest concentration 1.85 mg kg-1 found for carbendazim apple orchards. Chlorpyrifos, imidacloprid posed chronic E. fetida, F. candida crypticus TERs exceeding trigger value. mixtures 70% investigated sites. 47.5% samples high-risk, maximum RQ 490. According diagram, abamectin, tebuconazole, chlorantraniliprole chlorpyrifos hazardous study region, indicating alternative methods pest management need be considered. Therefore, practical mitigation solutions recommended, which use would replaced low-risk similar functions from or biopesticides.

The application of agrochemicals such as organophosphate pesticides (OPPs) has several benefits in agriculture but also poses great risks to the environment and human well-being. Thus, this study was conducted determine concentrations, distribution pattern, relationships, potential sources OPPs agricultural soils vegetables from Delta Central District (DCD) Nigeria provide useful information for pollution history, establishment control measures risk management. Fourteen were determined soil using a gas chromatograph-mass selective detector (GC-MSD). ∑14 concentrations varied 5.29 419 ng g−1 0.69 130 vegetables. On average, pirimiphos methyl (23.8 g−1) diazinone (4.74 dominant respectively. cumulative ecological assessed toxicity-exposure-ratio (TER) quotient (RQ) approaches revealed that there high organisms. increasing order toxicity organisms chlorpyriphos < fenitrothion while health suggested adverse non-carcinogenic children not adults exposed these

Food safety is a widespread global concern with the emergence of foodborne diseases. Thus, establishing accurate and sensitive detection methods harmful contaminants in different food matrices essential to address prevent associated health risks. Among various analytical tools, mass spectrometry (MS) can quantify multiple impurities simultaneously due high resolution accuracy achieve non-target profiling unknown pollutants food. Therefore, MS has been widely used for determination hazardous [e.g., mycotoxin, pesticide veterinary drug residues, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins, acrylamide, perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) p-Phenylenediamine (PPDs) samples]. This work summarizes applications detecting matrices, discusses advantages study, provides perspective on future directions development research. With persistent occurrence novel contaminants, will play more critical role analysis.

Due to the frequent pesticide applications, bees are suffered from exposure risks via consumption and direct contact with sprayed drifts. However, if pesticides misused potential risk based on realistic application data still little reported. In this study, patterns in wheat-maize rotation system, vegetable apple producing areas, was studied by interviewing farmers Quzhou County, North China Plain. The use status evaluated recommended actual applied dose quotient (RQ) Bee-REX model used assess of collected data. results showed that over half (52 %) selected sites orchard owners were frequently pesticides. Positive correlations found between usage performance farmers' specialized training experience. Pesticides orchards have caused higher mean RQs exceed 120 1880 acute dietary routes, respectively. Pesticide misuse significantly elevates RQ under scenarios 5.8 times than correct use. Abamectin, fipronil neonicotinoids contributed most bees. main findings study imply more sustainable pest pollinator management strategies, including moratorium high-risk insecticides providing diverse flower resources habitats, highly needed. Additionally, measures such as implementing farmer educating programs should also be put agenda.
