The

adult
birds

Turtles
are
a
potential
sentinel
species
of
aquatic
ecosystem
health
as
they
inhabit
ecosystems,
long
lived,
and
potentially
have
high
exposure
to
anthropogenic
chemicals
via
food
water.
This
study
investigated
per-
polyfluoroalkyl
substances
(PFAS)
tissue
partitioning
in
female
Emydura
macquarii
turtle,
the
maternal
offloading
into
eggs
then
hatchlings
well
accumulation
PFAS
male
serum.
Significantly
higher
levels
perfluorosulfonic
acids
(PFSAs)
perfluorocarboxylic
(PFCAs)
were
measured
serum
compared
turtle
serum,
whereas
perfluoroalkane
sulfonamides
(FASAs)
significantly
Perfluorooctane
sulfonate
(PFOS)
was
predominant
turtles
PFHxA
found
surrounding
