Towards Carbon Neutrality: The Impact of Renewable Energy Development on Carbon Emission Efficiency

The energy transition and carbon emission efficiency are important thrust target functions, respectively, for achieving neutrality in the future. Using a sample of 30 Chinese provinces from 2006 to 2018, we measured their using game cross-efficiency data envelopment analysis (DEA). Then, random forest regression model was used explore impact renewable development on regional efficiency. results as follows. First, China's southeast coastal area better than that northwest area. Second, first inhibited then promoted efficiency, there existed reasonable range. Third, through heterogeneity analysis, trend influence found not be significantly different eastern, central, western China, but certain gap Our study only helps promote neutral target, also provides an reference policy-makers design emissions reduction path.
