France is the first pesticide-consuming country in Europe. Glyphosate most used pesticide worldwide and glyphosate detected general population of industrialized countries, with higher levels found farmers children. Little data was available concerning exposure France. Our objective to determine French search for an association seasons, biological features, lifestyle status, dietary habits, occupational exposure. This study includes 6848 participants recruited between 2018 2020. Associated include age, gender, location, employment information. quantified by a single laboratory first-void urine samples using ELISA. results support contamination population, quantifiable 99.8% mean 1.19 ng/ml + / - 0.84 after adjustment body mass index (BMI). We confirm men through food water intake, as lower are associated dominant organic intake filtered water. Higher confirmed working wine-growing environment. Thus, our present show glyphosate, further contribute description widespread countries.

Glyphosate is an inhibitor of the shikimate pathway in plants and most widely used broad-spectrum herbicide.Due to abundance its use, there exists a necessity measure levels both humans environment control nefarious outcomes use.The appropriateness, selectivity, specifi city employed analytical methods are crucial for reliability resultant deductions when conducting biomonitoring studies on possible exposure chemicals, whether samples biological or environmental nature. The aim this study evaluate techniques monitor glyphosate human samples.A detailed web-based literature search was conducted gather data determination. The preferred authentic blood, urine, milk.Environmental include plants, soil, water.Among detect High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry, Gas -Tandem Mass Spectrometry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Depending sample study, suitable method has been selected.A critical evaluation publication pre-existing glyphosate-based herbicide detection will thus aid all relevant researchers determination appropriate, selective, c methodology.Fig. 1.Chemical structure

Currently used pesticides are rapidly metabolised and excreted, primarily in urine, urinary concentrations of pesticides/metabolites therefore useful biomarkers for the integrated exposure from all sources. Pyrethroid insecticides, organophosphate insecticide chlorpyrifos, herbicide glyphosate, were among prioritised substances HBM4EU project comparable human biomonitoring (HBM)-data obtained Aligned Studies. The aim this review was to supplement these data by presenting additional HBM studies priority across partner countries published since 2000. We identified relevant (44 pyrethroids, 23 24 glyphosate) literature search using PubMed Web Science. Most Western Southern part EU lacking more than half HBM4EU-partner countries. Many regional with relatively small sample size few address residential occupational exposure. Variation urine sampling, analytical methods, reporting HBM-data hampered comparability results studies. Despite shortcomings, a widespread general population marked geographical differences indicated. findings emphasise need harmonisation methods future as initiated during HBM4EU.

Esteban is a nationwide cross-sectional study conducted in France 2014–2016, including 2503 adults aged 18–74 years old and 1104 children 6–17 old, as part of the French Human Biomonitoring programme. The present paper describes biological levels five families pesticides analysed on random sub-samples 900 500 for urine concentrations, 759 255 serum determinants exposure. Organophosphates, carbamates herbicides were measured by UPLC-MS/MS; chlorophenols pyrethroids GC-MS/MS; specific organochlorines GC-HRMS. Multivariate analyses performed to identify exposure using generalized linear model. Pyrethroid metabolites quantified 99% children, with exeption F-PBA, which was 31% 27% respectively. Carbamates some organophosphates barely or not quantified. DMTP 82% 93% γ-HCH (lindane) almost 50% children. Concentration pesticide biomarkers consistent comparable international studies, except β-HCH, DMTP, deltamethrin metabolite Br2CA, whose sometimes higher France. Household insecticide use smoking also associated pyrethroids. All concentration below existing health-based HBM guidance values, HBM-GVsGenPop, 3-PBA, approximately 1% 10% above lower upper threshold values 22 μg/L 6.4 μg/L, provides description 70 first time It adults, glyphosate AMPA. For latter, overall than adults. Our results highlight possible beneficial impact regulations adult organochlorine organophosphate between 2006 2016, decreased over this period.

Numerous studies worldwide have evaluated pesticide residues detected in urine. This review serves as a contribution to this field by presenting an overview of scientific research published from 2001 2023, including details study characteristics and scope. Encompassing 72 papers, the further delves into addressing key challenges design method used such sampling analytical approaches, results adjustments, risk assessment, estimations, evaluation. The explores urinary concentrations detection frequency metabolites organophosphates pyrethroids, well herbicides 2,4-D glyphosate their metabolites, across various studies. association with demographic lifestyle variables were explored. While farmers generally higher exposure, adopting organic farming practices can reduce levels pesticides Residence close agricultural areas has shown high exposure some cases. Dietary is especially among people conventionally grown plant-rich dietary pattern. A level are found females children compared males. implications transitioning sustainable diets for reducing potential health benefits both adults require investigation.

An analytical method for the simultaneous determination of glyphosate (GLY) and its main derivative, aminomethyl-phosphonic acid (AMPA), in human urine has been developed using gas chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) operated multiple reaction monitoring mode (MRM). Sample preparation involved dilution with water derivatization a mixture trifluoroacetic anhydride trifluoroethanol. Derivatization conditions such as time temperature, derivative stability, injection solvent, MS ionization MS-MS transitions, among others, were studied obtain highest sensitivity. The target compounds initially quantified by isotope isotopically labelled analogs GLY AMPA internal standards. However, due spectral overlap between selected quantitative transition, quantification based on pattern deconvolution (IPD) developed. instrumental limits detection 0.05 ng mL−1 both compounds, while 0.39 0.25 mL−1, GLY, respectively. mean recoveries from spiked at different concentrations 77 69% 90 102% respectively, relative standard deviations 8–10% (urine samples, n = 12) 3.6–4% (water 6). Once validated, feasibility was tested samples people living close agricultural areas. affords these trace complex matrices urine, avoiding elaborate handling cleanup steps. Isotope proven be successful alternative calibration curve overriding uncertainties associated overlapping.
