A regional-scale survey was conducted to assess the occurrence, distribution, and risk of two extensively used pesticides (organophosphate pyrethroids) in agricultural soils from Pearl River Delta (PRD), South China. All target organophosphate (OPPs) pyrethroids (PYs) were detected soil samples both with a detection rate 100%. The residues sum six OPPs four PYs range LOD-991 ng/g 8.76-2810 ng/g, respectively. Dimethoate dominant OPPs, fenpropathrin predominant PRD region. With intensive activities, higher closer seaside, among which Zhuhai city Huizhou suffered more serious combined pesticide pollution. vertical compositional profiles showed that dimethoate could be through each layer region's nine cities. human exposure estimation insignificant risks local population.
