Aquaculture
sector
plays
important
role
for
the
economic
development
in
Malaysia,
but
environmental
concerns
are
arising
due
to
pollution
caused
by
discharge
of
untreated
wastewater.Coagulation-flocculation-sedimentation
is
currently
best
practice
aquaculture
wastewater
treatment.This
research
aims
compare
performance
chemical-based
(alum)
and
bio-based
(neem
leaves)
coagulants
treating
effluent
while
also
studying
feasibility.Alum
showed
higher
removal
efficiencies
total
suspended
solid
(99.7%),
turbidity
(98.8%),
color
(97.3%),
neem
coagulant
a
lower
dosage
needed
achieve
optimum
performance.The
cost
included
capital
operational
costs,
benefit
potential
water
reuse
reclaimed
valuable
products
from
sludge.The
net
profit
reveals
negative
values
both
scenarios,
cost-benefit
ratio
0
0.06
alum
coagulants,
respectively.These
indicated
that
scenarios
not
feasible
gain
economical
profit,
utilization
present
sludge
utilization.A
deeper
analysis
using
Social
Return
on
Investment
(SROI)
method
suggested

non-traditional

Abstract
The
aquaculture
industry
is
rapidly
developing,
generating
a
high
amount
of
wastewater.
Inland
effluents
contain
nutrients
and
other
substances
that
can
cause
eutrophication
the
emergence

organisms
if
released
into
environment.
Hence,
wastewater
should
be
treated
appropriately
for
reuse
in
different
applications
or
safely
environment,
promoting
sustainable
circular
economy.

The
growing
problem
of
industrial
pollution
in
developing
countries,
especially
Ethiopia,
has
sparked
serious
issues
about
the
quality
water,
particularly
when
it
comes
to
effluent
from
wet
coffee
processing
industries.
In
response,
this
study
investigates
potential
utilizing
natural
coagulants,
Acanthus
sennii
C.,
Moringa
stenopetala
B.,
and
Aloe
vera
L.,
either
individually
or
combination,
for
treatment
effluent.
Methodologically,
systematically
varies
operational
parameters,
including
coagulant
dose,
pH
levels,
stirring
speed,
time,
evaluate
their
impact
on
coagulation
efficiency.
Experimental
data
undergo
statistical
analysis,
employing
ANOVA,
while
computational
optimization
techniques
are
employed
using
Design
Expert
software
determine
optimal
conditions.
Notably,
blended
form
three
coagulants
emerges
as
promising,
yielding
conditions
0.750
g/L
dosage,
8.76,
agitation
speed
80.73
rpm,

min.
Under
these
optimized
conditions,
achieves
remarkable
removal
efficiencies,
approximately

The
batik
industry
has
been
one
of
the
main
family
businesses
in
most
east-coast
region
Malaysian
peninsula
for
many
years.
However,
appropriate
water
treatment
is
still
a
major
challenge

industry.
Stringent
laws
