In recent decades, previously unobserved trace compounds have become more widely detected in wastewater treatment effluents and freshwater ecosystems. Emanating from various sources presenting potential human health ecological risks at much lesser concentrations than traditional contaminants, detection of “emerging contaminants” has increased with improvements analytical techniques. The behavior emerging contaminants wetlands is a topic increasing interest, as natural are known to transform sequester pollutants constructed or utilized address elevated constituents concern. Both complex biogeochemical systems interrelated abiotic biotic mechanisms leading the removal contaminants. A literature review was performed assess current state knowledge wetland involved removing these surface waters effluents. primary discussed sorption, photodegradation, microbial biodegradation phytoremediation. most influential dependent on properties studied. Common trends exist for different designs leverage based hydrology, substrate vegetation plantings. Much remains be understood about processes occurring they relate contaminant removal. Improving understanding role can help manage this environmental challenge effectively.

Hormones are a type of emerging contaminant that reach the aquatic environment through wastewater effluents and which treatment plants (WWTP) cannot eliminate. The objective this article was to determine best hormone abatement technique between algae microalgae, rotating biological discs, organic adsorbents, activated carbon. For this, critical review behavior methods conducted in existing bibliographical scientific databases over last eight years. Then, Modified Saaty method applied, establishing relationship removal efficiency, time, maintenance costs, stage development, environmental impact each studied by panel experts, who weighted chosen variables on scale 1–9 according variable’s importance. results indicated abate hormones is one uses adsorbents reached final comparative value 0.58/1, indicates suitability combine five comparison variables. At same disc 0.17/1, indicating its deficiency balance analyzed

Natural gas, coal, and oil account for over 84 % of the world's energy demand. Greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, methane, oxides nitrogen sulphur, are released during combustion fossil fuels, leading to substantial climate changes environmental damage. Therefore, harnessing from alternative sustainable resources without emission harmful waste products is vital ecosystem's health. By 2050, global food production will reach 3.4 billion metric tons. Although widely recognized as a resource, its value underutilized throughout sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). understanding exploiting potential biofuel can result in net-zero emissions, reducing significant pollution while conserving natural resources. Furthermore, this paper reviews how effective management have contribute development waste-to-energy SSA countries, well help improve ecosystems.

Myclobutanil is a systemic fungicide belonging to the triazole group, which frequently detected in environmental samples. Triticonazole, also fungicide, controls soil and seed-borne diseases it mainly used as seed-coating pesticide. Both myclobutanil triticonazole are considered persistent pollutants environment, raising concerns about their fate ecotoxicity potential. The purpose of present study was investigate efficiency four pilot-scale horizontal subsurface flow (HSF) constructed wetlands (CWs) remediate from artificially polluted water. Daily loading CWs took place March 2022 July with contaminated water fortified triticonazole. Three CWs, encoded WMG-R, WMG-C, WMG-U, medium gravel (MG) porous media fourth, code name WFG-R, fine (FG). Common reed (R, Phragmites australis) planted WMG-R WFG-R units, cattail (C, Typha latifolia) WMG-C unit. WMG-U unit no plant control results showed that removal rate follows pattern: (88.4%) > (83.4%) (59.3%) (36.6%) (88.5%) (71.0%) (70.9%) (49.2%) for triticonazole, respectively. most significant factors influencing fungicides’ dissipation were content species.
