High nitrate concentrations in groundwater induced by soil leaching are found worldwide, posing a significant threat to ecological environment and human health. However, few studies have reported the co-effects of extreme precipitation continuous decline on leaching, as commonly well-irrigated areas. In this study, effects long-term well irrigation table quality, characteristics accumulation root zone, main factors controlling were evaluated through 16-year experimental study area North China Plain. The results indicate that zone was migrating downward when tables less than 5 m with average annual percolation 82.5 mm. But, overexploitation shallow resulted rate 0.5 year-1, which drainage transportation previously cumulated zone. With below m, limited water percolated leached from during next or precipitation. only an 2021 washed out almost all accumulated past 15 years, posed persist danger safety. Therefore, accidental can together control area. Our research helps improve risk assessment contamination make better measurements protect regions similar circumstances.

Many studies have studied biochar immobilizing chromium (Cr) in soil. However, few were conducted to reduce the environmental risks due aging In this study, we adopt FeCl3, MgCl2, and AlCl3 activate sewage sludge form modified produce tubules. Then, column experiments carried out study effect of fluctuating groundwater table on Cr leaching behavior, total Cr, fractions distribution with insertion tubule. Results showed that tubules can significantly decrease amounts retard downward migration unstable soil column, enhance these abilities by modification. addition, immobilization is also impacted application mode hydrodynamic conditions. Detailedly, two degrees contaminated soils (i.e., slightly heavily), accumulative maximally decreased 33.39% 14.54 %, residual increased 10.05% 8.87 % whole exchangeable (EX) carbonates-bound (CB) 85.18%, 151.78% 70.92%, 149.87% at equal depth, respectively. BET, SEM-EDS, XRD, FTIR analyses revealed there differences pore diameter, specific surface area, elements contents (Fe, Mg, Al), functional groups biochars. The mechanisms biochars mainly involved physisorptionin, precipitation, reduction, complexation. This indicates tubule applied immobilize has potential provides new insights into reducing aging.
