Medical waste poses high risks to healthcare workers, patients, the environment, and public health. Governments have adopted measures enacted policies ensure proper medical management. Through a retrospective policy analysis, we analyzed management for primary centers in Saudi Arabia. By adopting Walt Gilson's health analysis framework, conducted thematic of documents analyze context, process, actors, content. Contextual factors including accreditation, Vision-2030 transformation plan contributed development policy. The was adapted from regional that about 15 years ago. content overlooked components relevant specific context centers. Lack training cooperation among stakeholders challenged successful implementation thus compliance with Respective must take further actions fidelity sustainability

The overall objective of this work was to conduct a critical literature review on the application circular economy (CE) hierarchy for management COVID-19 healthcare waste (HCW). To describe problem created by HCW, first, subsystems system, including generation, segregation, classification, storage, collection, transport, treatment and disposal, were reviewed briefly described. Then, CE using 10R typology adapted HCW included strategies Refuse, Reduce, Resell/Reuse, Repair, Reprocess, Refurbish, Remanufacture, Repurpose, Recycle Recover (energy). Disposal added as sink residues from strategies. Using detailed is novelty review. It concluded that R-strategy selection depends its position in medical item criticality value. Indicative components, which can be managed each R-strategy, compiled, but creating value recovering infectious downgraded materials contaminated with body fluids tissues not currently possible. Therefore, after applying solutions, end pipe disposal would necessary close material cycles at their life cycles. Addressing risks, knowledge gaps policy recommendations article may help combat future pandemics without environmental crises.

India's already-stressed waste disposal system has been strained by the COVID-19 outbreak. The challenge of managing biomedical Waste (BMW) in India become more complicated recent years, mainly due to sudden emergence COVID-19. As a methodology, literature review was carried out with help Google Scholar, Research Gate, PubMed, and academic journal databases. Additionally, publications from numerous non-academic sources (such as news websites etc.) current guidelines, such those Ministry Health Family Welfare, Government India, were also accessed. study identifies that PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) made up majority waste, followed vaccine during peak vaccination campaign. increase PPEs face masks, aprons, shields, gloves, goggles, sanitizers, well other medical like bandages, plastic containers, syringes, testing kits, tissues, significantly changed makeup BMW. This pandemic hampered proper management solid which now surfaced major threat developing countries. In this paper, strategies its methods, cost-effective environment-friendly methods treat are discussed.

Abstract The outbreak of COVID virus resulted not only in massive human deaths but also created huge waste disposal issues. Proper is necessary. conversion these wastes into value‐added products such as syngas beneficial to overcome energy scarcity Indian high ash coal (HAC) nonreactive, and the co‐utilisation HAC with plastic advantageous produce high‐quality syngas. In present study, thermal treatment overall gowns (OG) used during by pyrolysis gasification process was carried out under inert reactive conditions without at various operating temperatures. During pyrolysis, oil a yield 17% produced N 2 900°C, whereas reduced oxygen content observed (absence C–O) CO conditions. co‐gasification OG fuel mixture heating value 8.56 MJ nm −3 . calorific increases 51.8% when increased 20% because hydrocarbon 8.73 times. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that adding OG, initiated 35°C earlier compared HAC. solid residue obtained contains calcium form CaO CaCO 3 due COVID‐19 waste. global warming potential generated 32% addition 20%.
