Abstract The water resource situation in China is severe, and conflicts between the supply demand of resources are prominent. Competition for from key sectors, such as agriculture, industry, domestic use, widespread. Yellow River, one longest rivers world, an important economic belt ecological barrier China. This study considered nine provinces along River area three major water-use sectors: research objects. drivers consumption each sector were analyzed using Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index method. Based on this, a decoupling model was used to explore relationship use corresponding level development. It found that intensity development largest negative positive influencing factors sector, respectively, opposite effects two may cause Jevons paradox use. overall agricultural water-saving basin high has large potential. driving effect industrial structure more significant with higher levels. residents' levels rural areas obvious than urban areas. degree per capita worst agricultural, industrial, sectors their Therefore, focusing weak conservation, promoting upgrading, strengthening conservation education areas, guiding habits residents can promote sustainable River. results provide insights into management Basin.

The southern red soil region (SRSR) of China, a that is environmentally sensitive, suffers severe erosion (SE) as result climate change and human activity. factors driving SE changes in the SRSR China under changing settings have, however, only been subject small number research. Changting County typical area China. spatiotemporal variation characteristics from 2000 to 2020 were investigated using revised universal loss equation (RUSLE), while dominant influencing dynamic analyzed optimal parametric geographical detector (OPGD) logarithmic mean Divisia Index (LMDI). results showed average annual modulus shows decreasing trend, with decreased 10.00 t·hm−2·a−1 3.38 2020. Slight intensity was class, accounting for more than 75% total area, proportion trending upwards. Natural anthropogenic significant effects on spatial SE, which land use vegetation cover main distribution SE. Furthermore, interaction between these two explained greatly mitigation mainly attributed increase following implementation various ecological projects, contributing reduction by 68.7%. In addition, types rainfall amounts also played positive roles reducing showing contributions 20.2% 11.1%, respectively.

Yangtze River Economic Belt, China As the major national strategic development area of China, there have always been vital problems about imbalance water resources distribution and disparity economic levels in YREB. Quantitative analysis use efficiency (WUE) is essential to rational resources, as well sustainable development. In this study, a WUE evaluation index system for prefecture-level cities YREB was constructed, Super-Efficiency Data envelopment Slacks-Based Measure (DEA-SBM) model, Global Malmquist-Luenberger productivity index, combined with geographically weighted regression model were utilized measure identify spatiotemporal evolution characteristics its influencing factors. From temporal perspective, manifests significant upward trend from 2005 2020, growth presents lower reach > middle upper reach; spatial pattern, has divergence characteristics, high mainly occurred developed leading cities, while developing midstream upstream tended be inefficient; various effects on also analyzed, highlighting that technical advancement key driver evolution. Then negative industrial structure urban environment becoming more significant. Finally, effective measures upstream, downstream discussed.

The scarcity of water has become a growing problem worldwide. search for new sources therefore intensified, and one these is greywater. objective this article to evaluate the effectiveness three different coagulants obtained from Moringa oleiferaseed (seed husk, ground seed, degreased) in synthetic methodology planned stages; first stage, seeds were selected, unsheathed, dried sun 24 hours, coagulant was synthesized by 1 M NaCl solution. In second greywater prepared laboratory included personal cleaning products additional chemical components. Finally, statistical test employed removal turbidity incidence behavior turbidity, pH, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen over seven periods type coagulant. It found that degreased highest percentage (85%) seed husk had lowest efficiency with 75%. On other hand, it parameters such as pH depend on coagulant, while conductivity alkalinity do not time or Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2022-08-12-013 Full Text: PDF

Defining a reasonable and feasible watershed ecological compensation threshold is the key to protecting functions maintaining sustainable utilization of ecosystems. However, many studies have obtained values that are too high promote implementation policies. This study chose upper reaches Yangtze River as research area, taking water resources closer people’s daily needs evaluation object. Based on InVEST (Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Trade-offs) model grey footprint method, for was established. Combined with eco-compensation priority sequence coefficient identification protected areas beneficiary allowed measurement value in 2015 2020. Finally, compare advantages disadvantages different calculation methods, gap between standards theoretical globally. The results showed from 2020, content increased, while decreased. classified were mainly concentrated central-eastern southern parts River, western northwestern parts. mean absolute thresholds each prefecture-level city state ranged 0.43 24.63 billion CNY 0.67 41.60 which close actual values. Among land-use types, conservation service per unit area shrubs highest. lower limit calculated using method amount practice than commonly used opportunity cost method. findings can help improve mechanism region, win–win cooperation among transboundary areas, form harmonious stable green development model.

The application of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) measures can improve the ability natural resources supply, providing material basis for necessary guarantees sustainable development. However, there is frequently a lack scientific decision-making that incorporates local and social needs when planning NbS measures. In response to different types provide variety resource supply remedies, this study proposed methodology which applied Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) in China, considering four major five elements, are assigned steps according "where-what-how" framework. results showed indicative sites implementation distributed three parallel stripes pattern across area, among them, water food were two most needed covering up 80% area area. Combined with estimated 2030, socio-climatic development pathways lead changes prioritized exported by sites. Our approach be used plan decisions multiple compensation capacity where it needed.
