ABSTRACT Different factors affect the performance of denitrifying bioreactors. Hydraulic retention time (HRT), carbon source, and microbial community genus are three most important that This study aimed to evaluate best possible case these factors. So, this reviewed 42 papers between 2016 2023. Woodchips with 50% particles >13 mm recommended be used in Also, sedge, straw, potato residues have better comparison woodchip. It can seen bioreactors is optimized at HRTs higher than 24 h. Microbial belongs Pseudomonas family bacteria, Thauera Halomonas species an acceptable efficiency unfavorable conditions.
