Protected areas are significant due to the high value of natural resources they shelter. This study's primary objective is assess quality status water (13 lakes and Tisa River) localized in protected area River on territory Romania. A number 13 surface (Tisa situated through Natura 2000 ecological network studied. The chemistry potential pollution were analyzed by measuring analyzing a set twenty elements sixteen physico-chemical parameters. impact anthropogenic activities was settled applied analysis obtained results. human health risk noticed. Results indicated that waters rich Ni Fe probably interaction with groundwater Ni. Waters characterized contamination, which if directly or food chain consumed could negatively influence health. Piper Gibbs plots studied divided into three categories based water-rock interactions: mixed Ca2+-Na+-HCO3-, CaCO3-, Na+-HCO3-. Likewise, indices (Heavy metal Pollution Index, HPI Heavy Evaluation HEI) correlated As, amounts. findings this research imply influenced geogenic origin emergence activities. significance related understanding mechanisms quality, improving conserving resources, correspondingly any risks be identified.

The escalating environmental impact of rare earth elements (REEs) in freshwater ecosystems, exemplified by Hongze Lake's increasing pollution levels from sediment-bound nutrients and REEs due to human activities, necessitates a comprehensive study. Our objectives are unravel the spatial distribution patterns surface sediments assess their combined toxicity effects on aquatic biota, aiming fill critical gap understanding ecological toxicological risks associated with these contaminants. This study employed diffusive gradients thin films (DGT) technique analyze China's Lake for REEs. Significant fluctuations were observed concentrations phosphate (PO4–P), nitrate (NO3–N), ammonium (NH4–N), some exceeding predicted no effect (PNEC) organisms. Correlation analysis suggested complex interrelationships among elements, indicating potential common sources. Factor condensed 16 variables into 4 factors, unveiling distinct lake. Additionally, probabilistic ecotoxicological risk assessment, integrating DGT-labile data, revealed 1.26% probability inducing toxic biota. These findings provide specific numerical insights sources within ecosystem. results offer valuable information current future lake management conservation efforts.

Heavy metal and microplastic (MP) contamination of aquatic systems is a major environmental issue that affects human health globally. Songkhla lagoon, the largest lagoon in Thailand, also faced with issues. Here, this study reported occurrence heavy MP 10 sites sediment Songkla lagoon. From separation, fibers were found at all stations 68.24% (15.15 items/g) fragments 31.76% (7.05 items/g). The highest number particles was area near mouth (5.4 average concentrations (mg/kg) showed following trend: Mg (732.54 ± 247.04) > Mn (176.74 83.68) Zn (29.36 39.47) Cu (12.31 24.58) Pb (11.07 7.60) As (5.64 3.30) Co (2.90 1.38) Cd (0.22 0.17). Regarding overall risk assessment MPs study, categorized as high for polymer hazard index. ecological index to have risk. High EF values observed Cd, which indicated severe enrichment. Based on I geo calculation, majority sampling unpolluted moderately contaminated (Pb, Zn, Mg, Co). Furthermore, there no significant correlation between metals, except (r = 0.697) 0.61) (both p< 0.05). results might provide valuable data develop conservation policies coastal areas.
