Abstract Inhibitory impact of Artemisia herba-alba extract on Klisinema persicum growth was investigated. This study looked at the effects different concentrations A. extracts and antioxidant enzyme (superoxide dismutase Catalase) activity K. in order to determine optimal dose range for good anti-algal action. Concentrations were used (2.5,5, 10, 20, 40,80 160) mg. L -1 as well control. Results showed that both crude extracted, alcoholic extract, aqueous had an obvious inhibitory effect growth, such obtained results demonstrated extracted inhibited algal more efficiently than . investigation found a 10 with above 50% IR crude, extractand best, based changes cell density ratio (IR). Additionally, after 4 days, group saw significant decline Chlorophyll-a concentration enzymes activity, falling below detection threshold. Our findings may pave way further into mechanisms underlying dangerous algae, which turn could lead creation novel materials.

The hormesis effect has gradually become a research focus in environmental science and toxicology due to its unique phenomenon of low-concentration stimulation high-concentration inhibition. combined toxicity antibiotics their regulatory effects on microorganisms are areas that warrant significant attention. In this study, doxycycline hydrochloride (DXC), sulfamethoxazole (SMX) sulfamethazine (SMZ) were used as the objects, Scenedesmus obliquus was indicator organism study action laws at different exposure times (4d 8d). toxic antibiotic mixtures with comprehensively evaluated from aspects growth inhibition, photosynthesis index antioxidant enzyme activity. results showed 11 rays produced effect, value 8th day greater than 4th day. Through prediction toxicity, it found type intensity affected by mixture composition, time concentration. Hormesis is caused regulation photosynthesis, activation defense system, gene expression, change cell membrane permeability. This provides theoretical basis for understanding effect.

This study investigated the effects of levofloxacin (LEV) and norfloxacin (NOR) on Skeletonema costatum , focusing cell growth, chlorophyll a (Chla) content, maximal quantum yield PSII ( Fv/Fm ), protein enzyme activities superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione reductase (GR), peroxidase (GSH-PX), membrane lipid peroxidation product malondialdehyde (MDA) content were conducted to analyze responses S. under LEV NOR exposure. Cell Chla activities, MDA assessed elucidate physiological changes. Both inhibited except for 10 mg/L NOR, which promoted growth. Algal cells exhibited higher sensitivity LEV, with 96h-IC50 values 14.770 44.250 NOR. Low concentration (10 mg/L) increased while high antibiotic concentrations (>20 >100 NOR) decreased indicating an impact photosynthesis. Elevated levels reduced but GR, SOD, GSH induced oxidative stress. The provides comprehensive analysis marine microalgae growth underlying mechanisms, shedding light potential ecological risks posed by antibiotics in ecosystems.
