Groundwater has become one of the natural sources water nowadays. Naturally, groundwater contains dissolving materials such as soils, rocks, and minerals, which later release constituents, including iron (Fe 2+ ) manganese (Mn). However, raw been found to consist a high concentration exceed Quality Standard published by Department Environment Malaysia. Initially, Fe Mn exceeding limit mentioned in standard; 1.0 0.2 mg/L, respectively, might affect quality groundwater. Hence, condition needs be treated before it can distributed user. Reservoir water level regulation induces intricate processes of phosphorus (P) migration and release within the water-level fluctuation zone (WLFZ). These dynamic interactions pose significant challenges for effective pollution management strategies. This study focused on two typical tributary WLFZs (narrow gorges type wide river type) in Three Gorges (TGR), aiming to quantify P sources assess their potentials across operational periods. Results showed that deposition suspended particulate (SS-P) transported from upstream was dominant source during low period (August 2022). During drainage period, main ‘narrow type’ WLFZ loss slope soil above WLFZ, but ‘wide had a mix sources, including soil, SS-P depositions TGR backwater upstream. Among three exhibited relatively higher degree saturation (DPS) values (0.5–18.8%), indicating greater potential release. Understanding the law of surface water–groundwater conversion in face high-intensity human activities is still a challenge. In this study, we employed statistical and system dynamics methods to investigate Jianghan Plain following impoundment Three Gorges Project (TGP) Yangtze-to-Hanjiang Water Transfer (YHWTP). The quality and chemodiversity of aquatic dissolved organic matter (DOM), crucial to global carbon cycling ecological functions, are affected by microbial anthropogenic activities. In this study, molecular characteristics DOM collected from 14 field water samples were compared with three standard the International Humic Substances Society using Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS). Results indicated that microbially terrestrially derived contributed surface groundwater pool, higher lability (higher H/Ciw) in than IHSS standards, which was related overall impact diverse biogeochemical processes factors. perturbations contribute more nonoxygen heteroatomic (N, S, Cl atoms) molecules water, pollutants (surfactants sucralose) had significant signatures waters intensive emissions. A strong correlation among indicators, nutrients, synthetic results activities within basin heteroatoms increased diversity. This study has highlighted environmental reflecting factors, shedding new insights into freshwater health.
