Macroalgae
offshore
cultivation
and
sinking
is
considered
a
potentially
practical
approach
for
ocean-based
carbon
dioxide
removal.
However,
several
considerations
need
to
be
resolved
assess
the
effectiveness
sustainability
of
this
approach.
Currently,
studies
focus
on
area

climate-relevant
sequestration
through
macroalgae
without
considering
realistic,
global
spatial
limitations.

study

spatially-explicit
suitability
assessment
model
optimised
open-ocean
afforestation
site
designation.

applying

maritime,
ecological
industrial
constraints,

maps
are
produced:
a)
suitable
areas
sinking,
b)
only
(for
purposes).
These
data
provide
more
realistic
quantifying
ocean
surface
(including
corresponding
depths)
within
spatially
sustainable
framework.
The
resulting
estimate
respective
EEZs
world
countries.

km2

With
the
widespread
utilization
of
solar
photovoltaics
(PV),
it
is
becoming
increasingly
important
to
understand
its
performance
using
various
configurations

Swine
wastewater
poses

the
potential
of
saltwater
macroalgae
Agardhiella
subulata
for
nutrient
removal
carbon
assimilation
under
varying
salinity
ammonium
concentrations.
Using
diluted
swine
aquaculture
wastewater,

achieved
phosphorus
efficiencies
up
to
93
%

%,
respectively,
within
24
h.
It
also
removed
CO2
at
rates
five
times
higher
than
global
forest
average
enhanced
dissolved
oxygen
levels,
reducing
impact
nutrient-rich

freshwater
demand.
Notably,
effectively
utilized

Seaweeds
offer
highly
valuable
opportunity

three
categories:
brown
(Phaeophyceae),

(Chlorophyceae).

they
have
traditionally
been
used
aquafeed,
their
demand
market
growing,
parallelly
increasing
according
food
demand.
Additionally,
seaweeds
being
promoted
nutritional
benefits,
which
contribute
health,
growth,
performance
of
animals
intended
human
consumption.
Moreover,
contain
biologically
active
compounds
such
as
polyunsaturated
fatty
acids,
antioxidants
(polyphenols),
pigments
(chlorophylls
carotenoids),
possess
beneficial
properties,
including
antibacterial,
antifungal,
antiviral,
antioxidant,
anti-inflammatory
