Despite significant progress being made in the development of cobaltosic oxide or modified nanomaterials degradation organic pollutants, to our knowledge, there are only very few available reports on crystal facet effect Co3O4 with different morphologies peroxymonosulfate activation for oxytetracycline degradation. Herein, we first reported synthesis three kinds nanocomposites various morphologies, including nanocubes (Co3O4-c), octahedron (Co3O4-o), and truncated (Co3O4-t), activating (PMS) at 30 °C. The detailed physical characterizations illustrated that Co3O4-c, Co3O4-o, Co3O4-t possessed a uniform morphology nanocubes, octahedron, six {100} exposing facets, {111} mixture eight respectively. In particular, optimal (Co3O4-c) presented highest catalytic reactivity PMS OTC degradation, 82.8% efficiency 46.4% mineralization rate DFT results exhibited ΔEtotal facets (−23.7 eV) was much lower than (−17.2 eV), indicating more likely occur which good accordance above experimental conclusion. Overall, explanation effects proposes research orientation engineering heterogeneous catalysts wastewater treatment.

This study developed a new system for removing antibiotics using UV/ZIF-67 (Co)-activated peroxymonosulfate. The presence of antibiotic organic pollutants in urban sewage presents substantial challenge treatment technologies. Due to the persistent chemical stability antibiotics, their low environmental concentrations, and resistance degradation, effectively residual remains significant issue wastewater treatment. introduces an eco-friendly photocatalytic technology designed enhance removal oxytetracycline (OTC) from municipal (Co)/PMS system. results showed that compared with UV, UV/PMS, ZIF-67 (Co), (Co)/PMS, (Co) systems, had highest OTC rate. When 10 mg 1 mM PMS were applied 100 mL 30 mg/L solution, degradation efficiency reached 87.73% under 400 W ultraviolet light. Increasing dosage can improve rate OTC, but marginal benefit additional is reduced. was observed at weakly acidic pH, which may be due potential damage internal structure catalyst reduced performance extreme pH conditions. influence chloride ions nitrate on reaction minimal, while bicarbonate exhibit inhibitory effect OTC. exhibits adaptability various water sources, including tap water, Guitang River pure water. free radical identification indicate hydroxyl sulfate groups system, both play important roles offers valuable insights technical support green, efficient, environmentally friendly wastewater.
