Abstract Aim The assembly of real‐world ecological communities in human‐modified landscapes is influenced by a complex interplay spatial, temporal, environmental and invasion gradients. However, understanding the relative importance these drivers their interactions shaping functional remains elusive. Our study aimed to investigate influence on stream fish metacommunity. Location Streams Lake Balaton catchment, Hungary. Methods We analysed long‐term (18‐year) dataset metacommunity, focusing changes diversity (Q), redundancy (R) species dominance (D). Ternary diagrams were utilized decompose into Q, R D components visualize patterns. Linear mixed‐effect regression separate structural equation models employed identify significant D. Results Native exhibited low (Q) but high (D), indicating convergence dominance. Stream habitat size, network position associated physical chemical gradients emerged as consistently R. Nitrogen pollution in water bodies presents a serious threat to ecosystems due its role eutrophication. In this study, the aerobic denitrifying bacterium Alcaligenes faecalis was used as model microorganism investigate optimal operating conditions for nitrogen removal from nitrogen-containing wastewater by under different aeration modes, microbial dosages and C/N ratios. The results showed that mode efficient bacterial denitrification 10 min of with 30 interval, total reached 87.82%. At doses, NO3−–N completely denitrified NO2−–N accumulation levels were reduced, all which resulted significant denitrification, final efficiencies 86.39–98.50%. Abstract Biodiversity loss caused by biological invasions is an ecological problem on a global scale, and understanding the mechanism of invasion basis for managing non‐native species. The biotic resistance hypothesis proposes that species‐rich native communities are less susceptible to because limited resources available species, therefore comparing resource utilization patterns different can reveal mechanisms specific species at community level. We selected Lake Taihu, where icefish ( Neosalanx taihuensis Chen) originated, Fuxian, invaded, as research objects. calculated fish functional diversity indexes, including richness (FRic), evenness (FEve), divergence (FDiv), reflect differences in niche based four quarterly survey data from two lakes. random forests model explored relationship between indexes environmental variables.
