This study presents a novel pesticide transport module for the OpenLISEM runoff and erosion model. During water events, high amounts of pesticides can be transported alongside runoff. Simulating this process helps to mitigate adverse effects in environment. We conceptualized uptake during with mixing-layer, including mass transfer dissolved into detachment combination enrichment sorbed pesticides. Lateral is modelled kinematic wave based on overland flow water. The model simulations were line observations two events small agricultural catchment South-Limburg, Netherlands. A sensitivity analysis showed that was mainly influenced by rate, soil-water partitioning exponent ratio. accurate simulation OpenLISEM, enables OLP simulate redistribution adequately.

Terrestrial insectivores in riparian areas, such as spiders, can depend on emergent aquatic insects high-quality prey. However, chemical pollution entering streams from agricultural and urban sources alter the dynamics composition of insect emergence, which may also affect food web. Few studies have examined effects stressor-induced alterations emergence especially terms diet composition. We used DNA metabarcoding gut content to describe Tetragnatha montana spiders collected 10 forested with differing levels pesticide wastewater pollution. found that consumed more Chironomidae fewer other Diptera, including Tipulidae, Ptychopteridae Culicidae, at polluted streams. Pollution-related were mainly observed spider diet, not significant for number nor flying trapped each site. Our results indicate diets is sensitive stream pollution, even absence a change overall proportion prey consumed. A high reliance give an increased risk dietary exposure pollutants retained by insects.

This study presents a novel pesticide transport module for the OpenLISEM runoff and erosion model. The model was designed to simulate dissolved particulate phase of pesticides during rainfall-runoff events from agricultural fields. We conceptualized with mixing-layer, including soil-water partitioning in soil, mass transfer mixing layer water or infiltration transport. Entrainment deposition soil particles drive sorbed pesticides. tested on two observed data small catchment South-Limburg, Netherlands. could, after calibration, transported loads concentrations metobromuron glyphosate adequately. A sensitivity analysis showed that mainly influenced by initial field partitioning. To obtain accurate simulations contents, correct simulation is prerequisite.
