With the rapid development of cities in northwest China, there has been an increasing focus on groundwater pollution plateau cities, specifically common occurrence nitrate pollution. Groundwater is a critical resource for economic growth and livelihoods in the dense agricultural plains of plateaus. Soil moisture content continuously alters the types and forms of petroleum organic pollutants in soil through processes such as dissolution, convection, dilution, forming complex migration transformation a water–air–soil–NAPL system.
