Leguminous crops are vital to sustainable agriculture due their ability fix atmospheric nitrogen, improving soil fertility and reducing the need for synthetic fertilizers. Additionally, they an excellent source of protein both human consumption animal feed. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), found in various leguminous seeds, exhibit broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity through diverse mechanisms, including interaction with microbial cell membranes interference cellular processes, making them valuable enhancing crop resilience food safety. In field plant sciences, computational biology methods have been instrumental discovery optimization AMPs. These enable rapid exploration sequence space prediction AMPs using deep learning technologies. Optimizing AMP annotations design offers a strategic approach enhance efficacy minimize potential side effects, providing viable alternative conventional agents. However, presence overlapping sequences across multiple databases poses challenge creating reliable dataset prediction. To address this, we conducted comprehensive analysis redundancy databases. encompass wide range from different sources specific functions, naturally occurring artificially synthesized Our revealed significant overlap, underscoring non-redundant database. We present development new database that consolidates unique derived aiming create more refined binary classification plant-derived This will support advancement agricultural practices by use plant-based agroecology, contributing improved protection security.

Since drought stress is one of the key risks for future agriculture, exploring molecular mechanisms photosynthetic responses to water deficit is, therefore, fundamental. By using chlorophyll fluorescence imaging analysis, we evaluated photosystem II (PSII) photochemistry in young and mature leaves Arabidopsis thaliana Col-0 (cv Columbia-0) at onset (OnWDS) under mild (MiWDS) moderate (MoWDS). Moreover, tried illuminate underlying differential response PSII model plant A. thaliana. Water induced a hormetic dose function both leaf types. A U-shaped biphasic curve effective quantum yield (ΦPSII) was observed, with an inhibition MiWDS that followed by increase ΦPSII MoWDS. Young exhibited lower oxidative stress, malondialdehyde (MDA), higher levels anthocyanin content compared (+16%) MoWDS (+20%). The resulted decreased non-regulated energy loss (ΦNO), (-13%) (-19%), leaves. ΦNO represents singlet-excited oxygen (1O2) generation, this decrease excess excitation PSII, (-10%) (-23%), suggested be triggered, MiWDS, intensified reactive species (ROS) which considered beneficial activating defense responses. This triggered acclimation provided tolerance when became more severe We concluded hormesis are regulated developmental stage modulates accumulation stress-dependent dose.

Abstract Studies on insecticide-induced stimulatory effects in pest insects have become of utmost importance due to their potential implications management. Temperature influences the physiology and biology ectothermic organisms like insects. It can also affect toxicity relative efficacy insecticides that are used agricultural fields. However, impact temperature insect responses after exposure mild stresses has frequently been overlooked. Here, we investigated how different levels (15; 20; 25; 28 °C) modulate two synthetic chlorpyrifos (organophosphate) deltamethrin pyrethroid); subsequently impacts survival reproduction green peach aphid Myzus persicae exposed sublethal concentrations insecticides. Our findings indicated temperature-dependent chemicals mortality, longevity, number nymphs produced by aphids lethal exposures. In fact, besides high induced at lower concentrations, change’s magnitude occurrence varied between temperatures depended faced females. increase from 15 °C increased 4 fivefold. Sublethal extended longevities for individuals treated with (all concentrations) 25 (LC LC 20 ) 1 ). Additionally, total during females' lifespan was , 5 10 ), results reinforce a shift studies focusing single investigating stressors’ combinations hormetic response.

Various metal-based nanomaterials have been the focus of research regarding their use in controlling pests and diseases improving crop yield quality. In this study, we synthesized via a solvothermal procedure pegylated zinc-doped ferrite (ZnFer) NPs characterized physicochemical properties by X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), FT-IR UV-Vis spectroscopies, as well transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Subsequently, impact on tomato photosynthetic efficiency was evaluated using chlorophyll fluorescence imaging to estimate light energy photosystem II (PSII), 30, 60, 180 min after foliar spray plants with distilled water (control plants) or 15 mg L-1 30 ZnFer NPs. The PSII responses leaves showed time- dose-dependent biphasic hormetic responses, short-time inhibitory effect low dose stimulatory high dose, while at longer exposure period, reverse phenomenon recorded doses. An function observed more than ~120 both concentrations, implying negative photochemistry. We may conclude that NPs, despite ability induce hormesis photochemistry, function.
