Abstract Growth performances of plants raised on post-coal mining lands are highly hampered by the unfavourable environment conditions plant root zones. This study was carried out to find if improvement plan application ameliorants may boost growth performance (diameter and height) Calliandra calothyrsus during 6 months after plantation. Twenty-seven replicates 3 levels ameliorant treatments (0%v + 0%v, 10%v 20%v, 20%v solid decanter biochar for M 1 , 2 respectively) were applied in compatible arrangement with completely randomized design (CRD) procedure. In each replication, 30 seedlings planted at m x spacing. Plant diameter height census, a normal distribution test employed prior anova mean different defined LSD test. Results showed that growths significantly affected treatment applied. gave 1.32 cm, 1.29 1.69 cm growth, respectively; 147.4 142.6 161,9 respectively. We conclude is promising develop further raising C. lands.

Soil compaction is prevalent in forest ecosystems, it alters the physical structure of soil and impedes tree growth. Although ameliorants are known to enhance properties positively influence growth, studies remain limited on effects potential factors root development compacted soils after amelioration. This study aimed examine ameliorant treatments BIOC (compaction + biochar) ORGF organic fertilizer) properties, Prunus yedoensis Ginkgo biloba seedlings soils. We found that improved physicochemical conditions, such as bulk density, porosity, permeability, pH, total carbon, nitrogen, which turn seedling Specifically, P. yedoensis, relative growth rate height was significantly higher (46.19 ± 3.47%) compared control (29.58 3.22%). The distribution of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) derived from compost in soil–plant systems is a serious issue. One possible remedy the application biochar-containing compost. In this study, cucumber quality and abundance ARGs soil–cucumber under different treatments, namely, traditional pig manure corn straw (PC); manure, straw, large particle size biochar (5–10 mm) (PCLB); small (<2 (PCSB); were investigated. results showed that, PCSB, yield, vitamin C soluble protein content cucumbers highest, while absolute intI2 was reduced soil. amount available potassium soil contributed most to changes yield quality. total highest PC, followed by PCLB, CK (control treatment without fertilization) treatments. Compared PCLB PCSB applications decreased sul1 tetG 42–57% 38–80%, respectively, cucumbers. summary, more beneficial increasing nutrient content; improving C, reducing risk input transport system.

Composting is an aerobic process that transforms organic wastes into valuable agricultural product, but the composting frequently results in losses of nitrogen (N) through NH3 volatilization. We evaluated potential for high-temperature, wood-based biochar to reduce N loss when included as a compost feedstock. Biochar was composted with wood shavings and poultry manure (4:1 v/v) at rates 0, 20 40% (v/v) replicated, actively aerated 1.43 m3 in-vessel piles. addition caused more rapid temperature increase truncated thermophilic phase. from entire mass reduced 20% compared control (29.9, 32.3, 35.6% loss, respectively; P value = 0.027). However, assuming no lost added biochar, difference less significant (P 0.100). With addition, finished had greater NO3--N concentration, lower electrical conductivity, carbon ratio, total content. Compost products were amended soil 7 or 15 Mg C ha−1 potato production. Relative unamended control, high application tended decrease bulk density soil, differences detected between treatments. Tuber weights increased (biochar v/v). promising bulking agent which may nitrification. Future studies should examine how specific affect process, nutrient retention, crop
