In recent years, the utilization of phosphorus-enriched biochar (PBC) has attracted significant attention due to its exceptional stability and surface reactivity. This review systematically summarizes advancements in research related application PBC as an adsorbent for remediating water contaminated with heavy metals. Initially, precursors utilized production PBC, encompassing biomass phosphorus sources, are introduced. Subsequently, distinct physicochemical properties adsorption characteristics resulting from doping on through various carbonization processes parameters elucidated. Additionally, diverse mechanisms employed by removing metals analyzed. Lastly, future prospects associated challenges concerning presented. paper aims furnish comprehensive background information practical implementation purification metal-contaminated environments.
