Around 90% of fresh renewable water is being used in Iran, indicating high stress conditions across the country. Given that agricultural irrigation accounts for majority use and consumption, any efforts to alleviate must focus on enhancing management. This paper aims exhaustively compile existing literature consequences drivers insecurity, discuss strategies balancing food security context Severe scarcity can be largely attributed governance gaps Iran. In addition, inefficient use, population growth, warming/drying trends recent half a century are other major causes scarcity. Groundwater over-depletion, quality deterioration aquatic resources, decreased environmental flows habitat destruction, conflicts significant improper management Several productivity conservation interventions, drawn from rich literature, were suggested improve Furthermore, some water-food-energy nexus optimization methods, including changing cropping patterns, modifying energy tariffs, manipulating diet, reducing waste, discussed. Nexus-based strategies, which aim achieve balance between production sustainability, importance consumption sector. While there has been improving nexus-based measures, it essential policy-makers prioritize dimensions effectively address its words, system prerequisite adopting strategy aimed at coping with security.

Agriculture is of great importance in all societies, serving as the fundamental basis for producing food and ensuring survival human populations. The process agricultural production associated logistical elements face numerous difficulties, which are further intensified by worldwide water scarcity resulting from climate change. Nevertheless, existing body literature has not sufficiently addressed consequences on agri-food supply chains. To bridge this research gap contribute to mitigating global crisis induced change, study proposes a hybrid model that combines optimized neural networks based meta-heuristic algorithms mathematical optimization sustainable chain. proposed integrates particle swarm (PSO) feature selection convolutional network (CNN)-gated recurrent unit (GRU) with genetic algorithm (GA) structure predict consumption. Leveraging model's results, multi-objective agriculture chain developed optimize profitability while simultaneously addressing environmental pollutants, waste, usage, manufacturing costs time. evaluate effectiveness approach, real case Iran employed, providing both theoretical practical insights into design incorporates sustainability factors effectively tackles growing challenge scarcity. findings hold implications managers policymakers countries where growing. Sustainable accessibility and adequate availability of healthy water are preconditions for living effective uninterrupted ecological networking. However, the presence organic pollutants like organochlorine (OC) organophosphorus (OP) compounds in environment has led to continuous shrinkage percentage clean available humanity's basic needs. Interestingly, green nanoparticles biosynthesized using biogenic entities have recently emerged as an appealing choice photocatalytic degradation a wide range owing their eco-benignness. Particularly, iron-based (BIBNPs) demonstrated unique properties such ease fabrication, excellent regenerability, strong redox potential, ability absorb visible light, produce highly reactive oxygen species that can enhance efficiency low aggregation which beneficial remediation contaminants. The BIBNPs maintain stability reactivity under various environmental conditions makes them promising solution cleanup efforts. This review aims critically report empirically juxtapose iron oxide NPs spectrum OC OP aquatic environments. work also generously elucidates potential eco-benign recyclable photocatalysts complete mineralization OP. study pragmatically expounded mechanism presented frontiers future research directions circular economy, financial analysis, artificial intelligence integration, hybrid technology. It was discovered most prevalent end products were CO2 H2O, least amount time needed just five minutes, plant extract widely used bio-reductant bio-fabrication BIBNPs. greatest found be 100 % is testament superior efficacy

Adaptation to climate change in vulnerable tourism destinations, particularly desert regions, requires a systematic understanding of tourists’ psychological responses and behavioral adaptations. This study develops empirically validates an integrated theoretical framework combining the Theory Planned Behavior Protection Motivation examine determinants tourist adaptation Iran’s regions. The research systematically evaluates relationships between risk perception, assessment, beliefs, outcomes through structural equation modeling analysis data collected across three destinations Qom Province. Results demonstrate that motivation (β = 0.416, p < 0.001) beliefs 0.158, significantly influence intentions, while subjective norms show no significant effect despite collectivist cultural context. model explains 38.6% variance intentions 21.0% maladaptive behaviors, revealing differential predictability positive negative responses. Analysis indicates immediate experiential factors more decisive than abstract suggesting context-specific mechanisms settings. advances behavior providing evidence-based recommendations for destination management climatically findings inform development targeted communication strategies interventions balance environmental awareness with attractiveness, contributing sustainable development.

Water, food, and energy are vital for individual well-being national development. However, population growth economic expansion have significantly increased the demand these resources, while climate change has put pressure on their availability. To address challenges, Water–Energy–Food (WEF) Nexus framework highlights interconnected nature, promoting systemic management approaches. System dynamics, a methodology designed to analyse complex interrelated systems, is well-suited modelling WEF Nexus, capturing feedback loops dynamic interactions. This study evaluates use of system dynamics in examines how key driver resource demand, represented models. A systematic literature review was conducted following PRISMA framework. Of 280 articles initially identified, 237 remained after removing duplicates, with 36 relevant studies analysed. The results show dominance water-focused balanced models but limited representation systems. Among 20 representation, 17 treated economy as an exogenous input estimate only 3 integrated endogenous linking availability growth. These findings reveal significant gap current research underscore need further explore interdependence between resources.
