A myriad of nonantibiotic compounds is released into the environment, some which may contribute to dissemination antimicrobial resistance by stimulating conjugation. The deep-sea ecosystem, a less-contaminated reservoir of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), has evolved for microbes to survive and utilize scarce resources. Research on the diversity distribution these in environments is limited.
