The growing use of nanomaterials has sparked significant interest in assessing the insect toxicities nanoparticles. silkworm, as an economically important insect, serves a promising model for studying how insects respond to harmful substances. Here, we conducted comprehensive investigation on impact graphene oxide (GO) silkworms using combination physiological and transcriptome analyses. GO can enter midguts posterior silk glands silkworms. High concentrations (> 25 mg/L) significantly (P < 0.01) inhibited larval growth. Additionally, 5 reduced cocooning rate, 15 hindered oviduct development egg laying increased reactive oxygen species content regulated catalase activity, suggesting that it may affect growth by regulating detoxification. data analysis showed 35 metabolism-related genes 20 ribosome biogenesis-related were differentially expressed response GO, their expression levels highly correlated. Finally, propose Ribosome biogenesis-Metabolic signaling network is involved responses GO. research provides new perspective molecular

With the global implementation of wastewater reuse, accurately assessing soil ecological risk chiral pollutants from necessitates a comprehensive understanding their enantioselective toxicity to animals. Ibuprofen (IBU) is most prevalent pharmaceutical in municipal wastewater. However, its toward animals and underlying mechanism remain largely unknown. In this study, IBU enantiomers, S-IBU R-IBU, earthworms was evaluated at environmentally relevant concentrations (10 100 μg/L), simulating reuse for irrigation. The results demonstrated that adversely affects growth, reproduction, regeneration, defense systems, metabolic processes earthworms, with exhibiting stronger toxic effects than R-IBU. bioavailability assessment revealed more readily absorbed by converted enantiomer within This consistent molecular docking showing had affinities functional proteins associated xenobiotic transport transformation. findings study highlight poses higher R-IBU organisms under scenarios chirality chemical deserves attention when implementing reuse. addition, our underscores differences bioactivity may account pollutants.

The use of organophosphates (OPPs) in agriculture is an environmental problem due to their persistence the environment, affecting non-target species, including human beings. For this reason, study evaluated degradation chlorpyrifos (CPF) and profenofos (PFF) simultaneously soils at sublethal concentrations presence Eisenia foetida (EF) a native bacterial consortium (NBC). this, we first studied avoidance behavior EF contaminated with CPF PFF by calculating percentage response (AR%), finding that presents (6.45 65.5 mg/kg) (2.26 112.95 mixture, giving values AR% (+). did not show (-) when melon rinds were added as substrate making it feasible mg/kg mg/kg. NBC showed synergism degradation, reducing half-life time from 70 days 50 15 both cases, percentages 28 73.75% for 71.73% PFF, pH being determining factor favoring higher than 7. was scaled real agricultural 0.801 0.592 respectively. These represented ecological risk quotient RQ>1. After application NBC, OPPs eliminated non-detectable concentrations. It has been demonstrated effective alternative be applied OPPs, which would reduce negative impacts these toxics on environment
