Abstract
Background
Exposure
to
per-
and
poly-fluoroalkyl
substances
(PFAS)
has
been
associated
with
significant
alterations
in
female
reproductive
health.
These
include
changes
menstrual
cyclicity,
timing
of
menarche
menopause,
fertility
outcomes,
as
well
increased
risk
endometriosis,
all
which
may
contribute
an
endometrial
cancer.
The
effect
PFAS
on
cancer
cells,
specifically
altered
treatment
response
biology,
however,
remains
poorly
studied.
Like
other
gynecologic
malignancies,
a
key
contributor
lethality
is
resistance
chemotherapeutics,
platinum-based
agents
that
are
used
the
standard
care
for
patients
advanced-stage
and/or
recurrent
disease.
Objectives
To
explore
environmental
exposures,
PFAS,
chemotherapy
mitochondrial
function
Methods
HEC-1
Ishikawa
cells
were
exposed
sub-cytotoxic
nanomolar
micromolar
concentrations
PFAS/PFAS
mixtures
treated
chemotherapy.
Survival
fraction

Conclusion:
Our
findings
suggest
elevated
is
related
metabolomic
consistent
enlarged
fat
globule
membranes
altered
acid
metabolism.
Further,
study
supports
theory
share
mammary
epithelial
membrane
transport
mechanisms

markers
