Introduction: The application of Fe- (BC-Fe) and Mg-modified (BC-Mg) biochars for the remediation heavy-metal-contaminated soil has become a research hotspot in recent years. It is critical to select suitable biochar rejuvenation under same pollution condition. Methods: In this study, were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). addition, adsorption passivation effects BC-Fe BC-Mg comprehensively evaluated through batch experiments incubation experiments, Cd-contaminated on plant growth also demonstrated pot experiments. Results: SEM, FTIR, XRD showed that MgO Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles successfully loaded surface. maximum efficiencies Cd 52.63 66.23 mg g −1 , which was 9.05 7.19 times higher than original (7.32 ), respectively. Soil culture experiment 5% significantly reduced DTPA-Cd content 38.86% 50.85% at 120 days, promoted conversion acid-soluble oxidizable residual states. Pot revealed shoots maize 3.97 6.09 times, respectively, both increased dry fresh weights roots plants. Moreover, BC, BC-Fe, provided nutrients required activities dehydrogenase, urease, peroxidase. adsorption–passivation mechanism mainly included electrostatic attraction, while precipitation ion exchange. Discussion: Overall, results can be used as an efficient functional material heavy-metal remediation, study guidance selection passivator materials remediation.

To assess the environmental quality of topsoil (0-20 cm) in an industrial and mining wasteland lacated a town northern Shaanxi Province, Shenmu City, over 60 soil samples were collected analyzed for presence heavy metals, including chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb).The degree metal contamination land was assessed using Land Accumulative Index (LAI) Potential Ecological Hazard (PERI) methods.The correlation between metals also analyzed.The study revealed that mean levels Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Pb waste areas 42.6, 19.7, 47.7, 8.6, 0.10, 21.3 mg/kg, respectively.These found to be lower than screening values pollution risk on agricultural land.The area exhibited no enrichment with limited mild these elements.However, levels.Cd posed potential ecological hazards ranging from very strong some sample sites, yet combined risks deemed small.Additionally, there highly significant positive correlations (p<0.01) Cr Ni Cu while As homology.

This study aimed to determine the amount of As and Pb in water Meoqui-Delicias’ aquifer their spatiotemporal dynamics. Twenty-one sampling points were selected. Seventeen samples from wells four surface water; two used for human consumption rest agricultural use. Several exhibited high concentrations arsenic ranging 1.20 156.54 ppb, unlike lead, with low values being maximum value 26.32 ppb. From a geographical standpoint, it is impossible establish that these related, even though present zone Au Ag historically mined.

Abstract Pollution of farmland by heavy metals threatens food security and human health. In addition, in soil could infiltrate into groundwater to influence the water quality safety drinking water. However, relationship between metal pollution is still not clear. this study, we investigated Guanzhong (GZ) Plain region, which a significant grain production base China, determined spatial distributions, ecological risk, sources, migration fates (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn). The results showed that mean values were 19.57 mg kg –1 for As, 0.71 69.65 21.97 28.67 17.54 73.77 Zn, corresponding 1.2, 0.04, 4.69, 0.15, 0.07, 0.3, 3.6 µg L , respectively. Zn exceeded background values, Cd Pb those groundwater. Positive matrix factorization (PMF) models identified five sources ( fertilizers organic fertilizers, natural pesticides herbicides, industrial activities, sedimentation caused transportation) four (industry activity, atmospheric transportation, agriculture) particle composition carbon content important factors affected vertical distribution soil. modes found all metals. These help understand relationships ecosystems.
