Microplastics are a prolific environmental contaminant that have been evidenced in human tissues. Human uptake of microplastic occurs via inhalation airborne fibres and ingestion microplastic-contaminated foods beverages. Plastic PTFE-coated cookware food contact materials may release micro- nanoplastics into during preparation. Microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) are ubiquitous environmental contaminants. Their prevalence, persistence, increasing industrial production have led to questions about their long-term impact on human animal health. This narrative review describes the effects of MNPs oxidative stress, inflammation, aging. Recent studies have indicated potential health risks associated with microplastics (MPs) exposure, including alterations in blood coagulation homeostasis. This cross-sectional study aimed to quantitatively examine MPs human and assess their association markers. We recruited 36 healthy adults, collected whole samples, analyzed using Fourier-transform infrared (µ-FTIR) spectroscopy. Lifestyle factors related MP exposure were assessed, such as the use of plastic food containers. Coagulation inflammatory markers samples analyzed, C-reactive protein, prothrombin time, activated partial time (aPTT), antithrombin III, platelet count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, fibrinogen. detected 88.9% participants, a mean concentration 4.2 MPs/mL. The environmental impact of plastics is worsened by their inadequate end-of-life disposal, leading to the ubiquitous presence micro- (MPs) and nanosized (NPs) plastic particles.
