Sunscreens are topical preparations containing one or more compounds that protect humans from ultraviolet (UV) light. This review focuses on analytical methods, particularly liquid chromatography, with the aim of identifying and determining UV filters (UVFs) in environmental marine biota matrices. A literature was conducted using NIH (PubMed Medline), FDA EPA databases, Google Scholar, federal regulations. retrospective is focused last five years. Benzotriazole UV-Stabilizers (BZT-UVs), compounds added to plastics reduce ultraviolet degradation, are considered contaminants of emerging concern given their environmental persistence and documented toxicity in humans animals. Although rubber shoes have been extensively produced and used for the past century, chemical additives released from shoe soles, as well aquatic ecological risks, overlooked. Using nontargeted analysis, this study detected 106 70 chemicals in soles leachates, respectively. Ultraviolet (UV) absorbents and industrial antioxidants are two groups of plastic-derived contaminants emerging environmental concern. However, their distribution fate poorly understood in Arctic wildlife. In the present study, 16 UV (10 benzotriazole stabilizers (BZT-UVs) 6 organic filters (UVFs)) 7 (6 aromatic secondary amines (Ar-SAs) 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol (26DTBP)) were analyzed livers thick-billed murre (Uria lomvia; n = 28), northern fulmar (Fulmarus glacialis; 4), black guillemot (Cepphus grylle; 11), polar bear (Ursus maritimus; 18), beluga whale (Delphinapterus leucas; 10), landlocked (n 25) sea-run 10) char (Salvelinus alpinus) from Canadian collected between 2017 2021. This study addresses the widespread use of UV filters (UVFs) in cosmetic and solar products due to negative effects radiation, particularly relation melanoma risk.
