The anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) with great economic benefit and effective nitrogen removal capabilities is a promising process to remove from coking wastewater. However, the effect of quinoline (QL), characteristic pollutant in wastewater, on microbial interaction an anammox system still unclear. This study systematically investigated influence exogenous QL performance elucidated underlying response mechanisms using molecular ecological networks (MENs). presence high concentration (10 mg/L) severely inhibited efficiency. With increasing dosage, particle size granular sludge decreased less extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) were secreted. Moreover, reduced diversity altered overall community structure, while enhancing deterministic processes involved bacterial assembly. MENs analysis showed that network complexity addition QL, but modularity was improved under low QL. Within subnetwork Planctomycetes, most nodes belonged ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AnAOB), which possessed gradually proportion competitive relationships 59.1% 66.7% 76.5%.
