The contamination of farmland soil with cadmium (Cd) poses a significant threat to the safety and quality agricultural products. Heavy metals are prevalent environmental contaminants in pest habitats. This study investigates the tolerance of Hyphantria cunea larvae to β-cypermethrin under cadmium (Cd) stress. Exposure Cd markedly enhanced larval β-cypermethrin. The P450 enzyme was found be crucial triggering this cross-tolerance. Notably, exposure significantly upregulated expression HcCYP333A29 and HcCYP6AE184 both before after treatment. Silencing these genes reduced Cd-exposed larvae. Furthermore, overexpression improved Sf9 cells Drosophila HcDicer-1, a key gene miRNA synthesis pathway, diminished Cd-treated miR-2739 controlled HcCYP333A29, while miR-2854 overexpression, which were essential for cross-tolerance H. exposure. The use of sewage sludge as a soil improver has been promoted in agroecosystems. However, sludges can contain toxic trace elements because suboptimal wastewater treatment. Honey bees play a critical role as pollinators. However, their reproduction success and survival face severe threats due to the deterioration of living environment. Notably, environmental conditions during preimaginal stage inside brood cells can influence immune capabilities overall health after emergence. During in-cell developmental stage, workers are in close contact with cocoons, which become source stress accumulated metals.
