The global concern for risk control of organic contaminated sites is becoming more and prominent. This study focuses on a typical chemically contaminated site in the southeastern coastal region of China, investigating natural attenuation mechanisms benzene and o-toluidine groundwater through high-throughput sequencing, physicochemical analyses, stable isotope techniques. The results demonstrate significant heterogeneity spatial distribution degradation processes pollutants within zones (W27, W28, W31). Environmental factors such as HCO3−, SO42−, ORP predominantly influence microbial community structure functional distribution. Stable data reveal that δD δ13C enrichment effects are most pronounced deep layer (W28_40m), indicating active pollutant degradation, while deeper layers W27 W31 is constrained by anaerobic conditions reduced activity. combined analysis hydrogen carbon isotopes elucidates pathways dynamic zones, providing quantitative evidence for scientific support optimizing remediation strategies.

At critical transportation hubs in modern cities, the impact of volatile organic compound (VOC) pollution on public health underground train stations is great concern to society. However, prevention and control VOC at remain insufficiently explored owing complex compositions unclear sources. In this study, samples were collected from 12 Chengdu investigate their composition, characteristics influence health. The study detected 93 VOCs with a total concentration 80.64 ± 17.94 μg/m 3 . primary sources solvent (23.31%), station emanation (13.33%), traffic emissions (10.96%), industrial (21.49%) human emanations (30.93%). Although not found pose non-cancer risks population, they contribute low levels cancer risks. This poses significantly higher risk workers than passengers. findings offer scientific foundation for developing effective strategies support advancement healthy sustainable environment

It has been demonstrated that benzene, toluene, and xylene are carcinogens. Its combined effects with other contaminants have the potential to harm several ecosystem components. Since most human benzene exposure takes place inside, it is important understand how outdoor emissions from traffic industry affect interior concentrations. However, this area of study not received enough attention date. Herein, we examine concentrations (BTX) in a Steelpoort mining area. BTX pollutants were passively sampled on first seven days month, January December 2021 using Radiello samplers. The meteorological parameters such as temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, solar radiation also statistically tested. For all seasons, greater winter than summer 0.69 µg/m3, 2.97 µg/m3 0.80 for toluene xylene, respectively. In addition, was common compound highest when compared xylene. Benzene, had yearly average 0.61 1.48 0.64 below international limits (annual, 5 benzene; weekly, 260 toluene), comparison World Health Organization, well within South African exceedance limits. Both positive negative correlations between by statistical models. Temperature, humidity depicted weak correlation 0.003, 0.019 0.006, Toluene showed speed (1.90) (0.041). Overall, concentration major concern since an agent cancer there atmosphere.
