Rethinking the Esterquats: Synthesis, Stability, Ecotoxicity and Applications of Esterquats Incorporating Analogs of Betaine or Choline as the Cation in Their Structure

Esterquats
constitute
a
unique
group
of
quaternary
ammonium
salts
(QASs)
that
contain
an
ester
bond
in
the
structure

Despite
numerous
advantages
this
class
compounds,
only
two
mini-reviews
discuss
subject
esterquats:
first
one
(2007)
briefly
summarizes
their
types,
synthesis,
and
structural
elements
required
for
beneficial
environmental
profile
covers
applications
whereas
second
reviews
stability
selected
betaine-type
esterquats
aqueous
solutions.

is
to
critically
reevaluate
relevant
literature

Cytochrome P450 Enzyme-Mediated Enantioselective Biotransformation of Chiral Fungicide Tebuconazole in Earthworm

Tebuconazole
is
widely
used
in
agricultural
practices,
leading
to
elevated
residue
levels
soils.
However,
its
biotransformation
and
the
ecotoxicological
effects
of
corresponding
transformation
products
(TPs)
remain
insufficiently
explored.
To
fill
this
research
gap,
TPs
tebuconazole
an
earthworm-soil
system
were
identified
by
UHPLC-QTOF/MS
combined
with
UHPLC-QLiT/MS.
Six
chiral
tentatively
identified,
four
detected
both
earthworms
soil,
while
two
found
exclusively
earthworm.
Significant
enantioselectivity
was
observed
for
five
earthworms,
involving
cytochrome
P450
enzyme-mediated
hydroxylation
dechlorination.
In
vitro
metabolism
experiments
using
earthworm
microsomes
revealed
that
CYP1A2,
CYP2J2,
CYP2E1
involved
pathway
tebuconazole.
Molecular
docking
results
confirmed
S-(+)-tebuconazole
produced
more
hydroxylated
than
R-(-)-tebuconazole
due
lower
binding
energy

enzymes.

ECOSAR

Enhancing Photostability of Prochloraz via Designing Natural Acid-Derived Prochloraz-Based Ionic Liquids

Converting
pesticides
into
ionic
liquids
by
designing
counterions
can
modulate
their
physicochemical
properties,

improving
efficacy

prochloraz-based
(PILs)
were
synthesized
using
natural
organic
acids,
toxicity,
antifungal
activity,
in
postharvest
mango
preservation
evaluated.

that

properties

propiconazole,

water
solubility,
logKow,
surface
light
stability,
could
be
adjusted
selecting
with
varying
structures.

correlated
toxicity
to
zebrafish
embryos
activity
against
Colletotrichum
gloeosporioides.

except
for
benzoate
PIL,
photostability
other
seven
PILs
was
enhanced
under
UV
irradiation,
cinnamate
PIL
exhibiting
a
half-life
2.28
times
longer
than
prochloraz.
Spectral
analysis
indicated
anions
influenced
shielding
or
interacting
cations.
Furthermore,
three
selected
improved
pesticide
deposition
on
during
preservation,

penetration
fruit,
potentially

therapeutic

Abstract
Recently,
there
has
been
significant
focus
on
microplastics
in
the
environment,
especially
regarding
their
role
sorption–desorption
processes
of
emerging
contaminants,
impacting
pollutant
migration
between
aquatic
and
terrestrial
ecosystems.
Notably,
newest
pollutants
such
environments
are
herbicide
formulations
known
as
ionic
liquids
(ILs),
which
integrate
structure
classic
herbicidal
anion
with
surface-active
cations
acting
an
adjuvant.
In
our
study,
we
synthesized
ILs
by
combining
2,4-D
cetyltrimethylammonium
[CTA]
didecyldimethylammonium
[DDA]
cations.
We
investigated
whether
mixture
salts,
when
exposed
to
polyethylene
(PE)
microplastics,
differ
properties.
analyzed
sorption
