The objective of this work was to assess the impacts permanent reopening Grand-Bassam inlet on seasonal dynamics thirteen trace metals in superficial sediments area II from Ébrié system. In its implementation, sediment samples were collected over a year (from May 2023 April 2024). concentrations these obtained by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP MS) according ISO 17294-2 after dissolution NF X31-147. results showed significant input meteorological inputs during rainy, cold, and flood seasons, except for Cr, whose presence substrates mainly related strong marine intrusion hot season. modification geochemical physical characteristics due pass significantly influenced study period. A reduction use containing high efficient treatment anthropogenic discharges with metal content watershed ecosystem should be considered support depollution initiated inlet.

Inland lakes, contributing substantially to the global storage of sediment organic carbon (SOC), are subject marked changes in salinity due climate warming. The imbalance supply resources, such as carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus, sediments leads microbial metabolic limitations (MMLs). This, turn, triggers secretion extracellular enzymes by microorganisms mine for deficient resources decomposing complex carbon. This process is a rate-limiting step degradation and, result, has potential regulate stocks. However, general understanding MML patterns their relationships with SOC content along lake gradients remains elusive. study examined 25 lakes on Tibetan Plateau ranging from 0.13‰ 31.06‰, analyzing MMLs through enzymatic stoichiometry. results showed that metabolism was mainly limited stronger at higher salinity. Water pH were main factors influencing limitations, either directly or indirectly, effects nutrients diversity. Additionally, negatively correlated limitation, relationship weakened when controlled. These findings suggest decrease increased could be driven offering insights into impact stocks inland change.

Abstract Our aim was to assess the physical and biochemical properties of soil, chemodiversity dissolved soil organic matter (SOM), arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) community associated with Ocotea porosa forests in Brazilian Atlantic Forest biome. We evaluated (i) using standard protocols, (ii) SOM its optical characterization via Fourier‐transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry, (iii) AMF structure root colonization through morphological characterization. The highest values for Ca 2+ , Mg SOM, S, P, K + Zn geometric mean diameter, weighted average microbial C biomass, respiration, total glomalin, colonization, oxalic malic acids, carbohydrates, lipids, proteins/amino sugars, biological index, fluorescence index were observed preserved plots. also found differences land conservation status: Acaulosporaceae Gigasporaceae strongly correlated Claroideoglomus claroideum Funneliformis mosseae Rhizophagus intraradices more prevalent degraded This has potential increase sequestration, mitigate climate change, contribute preservation an endangered, century‐old tree species
