Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) continue to be detected in water sources with far-reaching negative impacts, removing these emerging contaminants has become a top priority. Conventional treatment technologies make it difficult effectively remove contaminants. As an advanced oxidation technology, ozone-catalyzed attracted attention for its efficient degradation of PPCPs. This paper reviews the basic principles process Compared homogeneous catalytic ozonation multiphase technology advantages easy recycling, lower cost treatment, higher activity, improved mineralization organic matter, etc., catalysts improve removal efficiency PPCPs by promoting decomposition ozone produce reactive oxygen species (ROS). also discusses typical examples processes, including gemfibrozil(GMF), ibuprofen (IBP), ciprofloxacin (CIP).
