ABSTRACT You are what you eat. Genetically modified (GM) foods transforming modern agriculture by enhancing nutrition, sustainability, and resilience to environmental challenges. This review highlights the benefits of GM crops, including pest resistance, nutrient enrichment, roles in mycotoxin reduction, biofuel production, pharmaceuticals. Although offer solutions for global food security, concerns persist regarding allergenicity, cancer risk, reproductive health, gut microbiota disruption. Advanced detection methods, such as PCR‐based assays, immunoassays, next‐generation sequencing (NGS), pivotal accurate identification regulation, ensuring unauthorized modifications excluded from supply. Emerging technologies, CRISPR‐based diagnostics, promise greater specificity affordability molecular‐level detection. The advocates a multidisciplinary approach—integrating genetics, immunology, toxicology—to address safety refine technologies. International regulatory frameworks must balance innovation with health safeguards. Consumer education is vital fostering trust acceptance foods. Vegetables accumulate considerable amounts of nitrates that enter the human body through nutrition, causing severe problems. This study aims to determine celery plants’ response replacing mineral nitrogen fertilizers with bio-nanoparticles. Three different treatments nano bio-nitrogen fertilizer (20, 30, and 40 ppm) in addition traditional (NH4NO3) treatment (100 kg N/acre) were applied on two cultivars (Balady Utah Tall 52–75). Plant growth parameters, vitamin C, carotenoids, nitrate accumulation, macro-nutrient uptakes, antioxidant activities determined at vegetative marketing stage. Our findings reveal a significant positive impact conventional bio-nano-synthesized forms. Notably, applying bio-nanoparticles improved yield efficiency, ranging from 5.1 5.8 tons per acre, suggesting viable alternative fertilization methods. Furthermore, transitioning organic nanoparticle form reduced accumulation fresh crops, decreasing levels 342.5 ppm as low 100 ppm. environmentally conscious approach offers sustainable solution mitigate chemical residues enhance celery’s flavor, nutritional value, health benefits. Specifically, our results demonstrate alleviated contents leaves after bio-nano-fertilizer. Nitrate treated plants decreased by up 70.0% compared highlights potential nano-fertilizers address concerns related thereby promoting safer healthier vegetable consumption. By advocating for nano-fertilizers, we propose promising strategy optimize fertilizing management, ensuring farming consumer well-being.

Abiotic stress disrupts vital physiological and biochemical processes in plants, leading to inhibited growth reduced seed germination. To counter these effects, chitosan chitosan-derived nanoparticles have emerged as essential priming agents. These biopolymers are non-toxic, biocompatible, biodegradable, making them ideal for agricultural use. Chitosan enhances the activity of antioxidants hydrolytic enzymes, which strengthens plant defences, improves membrane transporters' selective permeability, increases germination rates. nanoparticles, produced through methods such ionic gelation, microemulsion, electrospraying etc. offer additional benefits due their small size high surface area. non-toxic with a broad spectrum antimicrobial properties, further enhancing role management. As eco-friendly solid matrix agents, nano-chitosan significantly improve percentages overall seedling health, effective under salinity other stressful conditions. The efficiency agents largely depends on optimizing dosage treatment time, promotes development healthier seedlings and, consequently, better yields. stability particles crucial bioactivity influence index, directly impacting productivity abiotic stress. To mitigate the conflict between ecological restoration and pursuit of economic benefits in characteristic agriculture within plateau regions, this study proposes a theoretical framework for supervising plateau-characteristic agroecological security (PCAES). Initially, is conceptualized as an artificial ecosystem resulting from complex interactions environment specific agricultural resources given region; thus, PCAES defined sustainable developmental state that ensures high-quality resource supply without compromising integrity. Subsequently, constructed by analyzing supervisory subjects, objects, their interrelationships, followed in-depth three different perspectives. At foundational level, monitoring evaluation mechanism focuses on gathering data regarding composition environmental conditions to assess security. intermediate early warning decision-making aims at estimating potential issues then designing selecting optimal measures. higher control assurance directs stakeholders toward compliance with safety regulations via allocation macro-policy interventions while ensuring effective system operation. This holds significant implications advancing green development initiatives, enhancing scientific innovation, promoting practices agriculture.
