Abstract The rapid advancement of drone technology and digital twin systems has significantly transformed environmental monitoring, particularly in the field water quality assessment. This paper systematically reviews current state research on application drones, twins, their integration for monitoring management. It highlights key themes, insights, trends, commonly used methodologies, future directions from existing studies, aiming to provide a foundational reference further harness promising potential these technologies effective, scalable solutions resource management, addressing both immediate long‐term challenges. systematic review followed PRISMA guidelines, rigorously analysing hundreds relevant papers. Key findings emphasise effectiveness drones capturing real‐time, high‐resolution spatial temporal data, as well value twins predictive simulation‐based analysis. Most importantly, demonstrates integrating enhance sustainable management practices. However, it also identifies significant gap fully with comprehensive In response, outlines directions, including improvements data techniques, models, interdisciplinary collaboration.
