Air pollution caused by shipping-related activities has adversely affected public health and environmental quality in port cities. However, applying digital technologies offers new pathways to mitigate such pollution. Based on panel data from 52 coastal cities China 2016 2020, this study employs a two-way fixed effects model analyze the impact of economy PM 2.5 Additionally, threshold is used examine effect size relationship between Heterogeneity analysis further conducted two dimensions—vessel types components—to explore variations economy’s emission reduction effects. The results show that development significantly reduces levels, strengthens as expands. Furthermore, there are significant differences across different vessel components. These findings contribute understanding mechanisms through which mitigates provide scientific basis policy support for promoting green shipping industry.

The evaluation of air pollution is a critical concern due to its potential severe impacts on human health. Currently, vast quantities data are collected at high frequencies, and researchers must navigate multiannual, multisite datasets trying identify possible pollutant sources while addressing the presence noise sparse missing data. To address this challenge, multivariate analysis widely used with an increasing interest in neural networks deep learning along well-established chemometrics methods receptor models. Here, we report combined approach involving Self-Organizing Map (SOM) algorithm, Hierarchical Clustering Analysis (HCA), Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) disentangle single elaboration without previously separating sites years. proved be valid, allowing us detect site peculiarities terms sources, variation profiles during years outliers, affording reliable interpretation.
