Ozone (O3) is a major air pollutant with significant health effects, including increased respiratory and cardiovascular mortality. While previous research has largely focused on urban areas, this study assesses the association between maximum 8 h O3 concentrations non-accidental mortality, in suburban rural areas of Spain. We conducted nationwide time-series analysis across 122 municipalities April September 2017 using Poisson regression models adjusting for daily temperature provincial variability. Distributed lag were applied to estimate cumulative effects ozone exposure considering lags from 1 30 days. For each 10 µg/m3 increase concentration, all-cause mortality risk 2.3% was observed, peak at 2. Cardiovascular by 2.4%, also peaking 2, while showed strongest association, 4.3% rise 1. A secondary observed 24–28, suggesting potential delayed exposure. These findings higher than those previously reported populations highlight need targeted public interventions mitigate impact pollution non-urban populations.

Abstract Understanding aerosol characteristics and their influence on cloud condensation nuclei is essential for clarifying the connections between regional air pollution global climate change. Asian continental outflows, laden with significant anthropogenic emissions, can profoundly affect local quality. This study examines (LP) long-range transport (LRT) events at Cape Fuguei, Taiwan’s northernmost point, during spring autumn seasons from 2014 to 2016. We utilized a multi-pronged approach that integrates in-situ measurements, back-trajectory analysis, satellite observations differentiate LP LRT assess pollutant profiles. Our findings indicate notable distinctions: events, primarily driven by northeastern winds, display higher activation ratios lower black carbon (BC) compared events. Seasonal variations were pronounced, geometric mean diameter show stronger positive correlation suggesting increased particle aging transport. Wind direction played crucial role in determining characteristics. Southwestern winds associated BC concentrations, indicative of sources, while autumn/winter monsoon linked potentially more complex processes. These underscore importance considering both sources quality assessments potential impacts changing emission patterns
