Abstract Porous carbon materials (PCMs) have long played key roles in energy storage and conversion fields, known for their abundant raw materials, tunable pore structures, large surface area, excellent conductivity. Despite significant progress, there remains a substantial gap between the precise design of PCMs full utilization unique properties developing high‐performance electrode materials. Herein, this review systematically comprehensively introduces from traditional synthesis, machine learning‐assisted principles to applications. Specifically, preparation methods microporous, mesoporous, macroporous, hierarchically porous are thoroughly summarized, with an emphasis on structural control rules formation mechanisms. It also highlights advantages alkali metal‐ion batteries, metal–sulfur supercapacitors, electrocatalysis. Insights situ operando characterizations provide deep understanding correlation structure performance. Finally, current challenges future directions discussed, emphasizing need further advancements meet evolving demands. This offers valuable guidance rational points out research development.

Abstract The growing demand for sustainable waste management solutions and protection of natural resources from pollution has increased interest in effective adsorbents. This study explores recent advancements producing biochar activated carbon derived various biomass, including novel pyrolysis methods, such as microwave, flash, vacuum pyrolysis. Moreover, innovative upgrading processes, ultrasound, electrochemical, plasma modification, were assessed. article also examines the role chemical physical modification developing optimal pore structures surface characteristics that improve pollutant removal efficiency. Key parameters influence effectiveness analyzed, temperature, heating rate, residence time, reactor type. Furthermore, a techno‐economic analysis is presented, investigating feasibility cost‐effectiveness production. comprehensive overview serves foundation future research to advance field biomass‐derived adsorbents, with potential implications control resource recovery.

Chrysanthemum, an agricultural economic crop with ornamental, medicinal, and edible values, faces the problem of continuous cropping obstacles in its cultivation. As a potential soil conditioner used to address (CCOs), applicability biochar chrysanthemum cultivation has become research hotspot. This study explored effects three different types (rice straw = RB, pig manure PB, sludge SB) on for that had been continuously cultivated eight years through pot experiments. The results indicate addition significantly reduced water loss. Compared CK, retention rates SB PB treatments increased by 25.4% 18.4%, respectively.
