Abstract Micro and nano plastics (MNPs) pollution has emerged as a significant environmental issue in recent years. Plastic contamination the environment poses risks to both human health other organisms within ecosystem. This review discusses overall impact of MNPs on performance vegetable crops, including global perspective topic. Bibliometric analysis reveals that most research this subject been concentrated few countries, although number studies notably increased accumulate arable lands due activities, often altering soil's physical, chemical, biological properties rhizosphere. Vegetable crops absorb these mainly through their roots, leading accumulation edible parts plants. Consequently, results phytotoxic symptoms poor growth development. The effects are attributed genetic metabolic changes plant's cellular structure. Current limited cultivars. Future should encompass broader range under laboratory field conditions advance burgeoning research. Additionally, examining various types is essential comprehensively understanding impact.
