ABSTRACT
Soil
organic
carbon
(SOC)
plays
a
critical
role
in
key
soil
functions,
yet
SOC
is
highly
vulnerable
to
human
activities,
which
can
shift
from
acting
as
net
sink
becoming
source.
Despite
considerable
efforts
monitor
conditions,
traditional
evaluations
often
focus
on
temporal
comparisons
within
similar
locations,
limit
the
understanding
of
broader
changes.
To
address
these
challenges,
this
study
employs
pedogenon
map
framework
systematically
compare
changes
soils
under
natural
conditions
(genosoils)
and
those
affected
by
activity
(phenosoils)
across
Australia.
By
analysing
fractions
with
different

residence
times
–
mineral‐associated
(MAOC)

an
indispensable
natural
resource
for
the
existence
of
various
ecosystems
and
human
activities,
such
as
agriculture,
silviculture
and,
pastoral
activity.
In
addition

soil

Earth.
Internationally,
functions
were
defined
dealt
with
at
European
level.
The
purpose
this
study
define,
adapt,
quantify,
assess
some
health
their
component
indicators
related
land
uses
main
classes
types
across
Romanian
territory.
Five
studied
over

organic
matter
cycle,

biodiversity

4)
water
5)
contaminant
cycle.

show
that
soils
present
a
satisfactory
average
situation
because
there

severe
degradation
processes
occurring
large
scale.
