The preservation of post-harvest storage products, such as grains and rice, is often plagued by insect pests, with the rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae L.) standing out important. This study evaluates efficacy spice extracts Syzygium aromaticum, Trigonella foenum-graecum Ferula assa-foetida against S. at varying concentrations. Extracts exhibited toxicity that inhibited egg development larval progression, deformations observed lower concentrations leading to death higher Qualitative quantitative assessment α-amylase activity revealed significant decreased prolonged exposure. demonstrated increasing mortality rates combined displaying highest followed T. foenum-graecum, F. extracts, indicating promising insecticidal oryzae.

Abstract The thrust of the study was to determine chemical composition essential oils extracted from Thymus pallescens de Noé and Cymbogon citratus Stapf. as well evaluate their efficacy in controlling Sitophilus zeamais Motschulsky Tribolium castaneum (Herbst) either single or combined populations. Carvacrol (56.04%) geraniol (20.86%) were identified major constituents T. C. respectively. tested showed pronounced insecticidal activity against pest species relation with applied doses. EO had highest S. found be more susceptible both individual treatments. With reference contact fumigation assessments, effectuated corrected mortality rates ranging 42.5–100% 25–100% corresponding lethal concentration (LC 50 ) values 17.7 µl/ml 15µL/L air Whereas, exhibited 20–100% LC 18.1 15.5 µL/L increased for insect when using combination treatments, significant increases values, 8.59 49.9% species. Analysis energy biomarkers treated insects indicate significantly protein carbohydrate contents decreased lipids levels. therefore demonstrated bio-insecticidal toxicity EOs two important maize post-harvest pests, concurrently revealing positive negative gradients

Botanical pesticides are safe and widely used in pest management. Curcuma angustifolia belongs to the family Zingiberaceae is a rhizomatous medicinal herb. Following rhizome harvesting, leaves discarded as waste. However, they can be effectively utilized by extracting essential oils, which potential biopesticides. The aim of study evaluate efficacy leaf oil biopesticide against three stored grain pests, Lasioderma serricorne, Tribolium castaneum, Callasobruchus chinensis, their contact, fumigant, repellent activities. yield 0.39 ± 0.02 % hydrodistillation. GC-MS/MS characterization identified curzerenone (18.37 %), geranyl-p-cymene (17.32 α-elemenone (13.59 eucalyptol (7.58 %) main constituents. When exposed different concentrations C. oil, test insect displayed noticeably high repellency rates. It also showed better contact toxicity at 24 h, LC50 = 0.22 mg/cm2 for cigarette beetle, 0.64 red flour 0.07 pulse beetle) fumigation toxicities (LC50 10.8 mg/L air cigarette, 29.5 7.9 beetle). Additionally, phytotoxicity was done on paddy seeds, results no effect seed germination or seedling growth. evident from this that waste botanical pesticide manage adults these storage pests.

Abstract Spodoptera litura Fabricius is a notorious agricultural pest worldwide. Currently, the use of insecticides an important and effective approach for managing S. litura, however, it has developed resistance to multiple insecticides. Therefore, exploring identifying novel, efficient, environmentally safe natural bioactive substances highly controlling this pest. In paper, stomach toxicity growth inhibitory effects ethanol extract from Daucus carota seeds were studied. The main components identified, their mechanisms action explored through RNA-seq analysis qPCR techniques. results showed that LC50 was 3.5 mg/mL. larval survival rate, pupation pupal weight, female adult longevity hatching rate significantly reduced, stage prolonged when larvae fed artificial diets supplemented with extracts at concentrations LC15, LC20, LC50. A total 1305 compounds detected in by GC‒MS. Phenyl isothiocyanate 2,6-dimethylaniline highest among 12 contents extracts, adjusted mortality rates 100% 94.87 ± 2.96%, respectively, 1 values phenyl 0.60 mg/mL 2.13 mg/mL, respectively. KEGG real time PCR revealed treatment both (phenyl 2,6-dimethylaniline) affected mainly cytochrome P450 pathway, glutathione metabolism xenobiotic hormone biosynthesis fatty acid pathway. Our study provides foundation development control litura.
