Insecticidal activity of Thymus pallescens de Noë and Cymbogon citratus essential oils against Sitophilus zeamais and Tribolium castaneum

Abstract
The
thrust
of
the
study
was
to

chemical
composition

oils
extracted
from
Thymus
pallescens
de
Noé
and
Cymbogon
citratus
Stapf.

Abstract
Spodoptera
litura
Fabricius
is
a
notorious
agricultural
pest
worldwide.
Currently,
the
use
of
insecticides
an
important
and
effective
approach
for
managing
S.
litura,
however,
it
has
developed
resistance
to
multiple
insecticides.
Therefore,
exploring
identifying
novel,
efficient,
environmentally
safe
natural
bioactive
substances
highly
controlling
this
pest.
In
paper,
stomach
toxicity
growth
inhibitory
effects
ethanol
extract
from
Daucus
carota
seeds
were
studied.
The
main
components
identified,
their
mechanisms
action
explored
through
RNA-seq
analysis
qPCR
techniques.
results
showed
that
LC50
was
3.5
mg/mL.

survival
rate,
pupation
pupal
weight,
female
adult
longevity
hatching
rate
significantly
reduced,
