Improving energy efficiency in the fruit and vegetable sector helps reduce production costs, environmental impact, supports food security, especially during periods of high price volatility. The is energy-intensive, particularly processing activities like drying, freezing, canning, which cost about $800 million annually electricity fuel. This chapter examines consumption patterns technologies that improve at different stages to enhance security minimize impacts.

Post-harvest losses are a global challenge that impacts the quality and quantity of fruits vegetables; thus, these should be mitigated. This chapter explores traditional preservation approaches like physical (regulating temperature, humidity, modified atmospheric conditions, plastic-based packaging, wax-based coatings, etc.) chemical (chemical pesticides plant hormones) not safe for humans environment. Thus, an alternative could edible coatings/films as natural packaging systems. These formulated from biopolymers, their properties can improved by incorporating bioactive components (plant extracts, antimicrobial agents, etc.). They safe, eco-friendly, biodegradable. Nanotechnological (nanosensors nanoparticles) also play key role in post-harvest management. will prove step towards achievement United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2, 3, 7, 12, which aim to end hunger, achieve food security, promote sustainable consumption, production, agriculture patterns.

Rural finance provides financial support for agricultural production. Agricultural credit, as the most important rural resource, is designed to regulate economic activity and guide rational adjustment of economy industrial structure. However, relationship between availability credit farmers their choice cropping behavior in production process remains unexplored depth. To fill this gap, study constructs an analytical framework ‘Agricultural credit-production factor allocation-planting structure decision-making behaviour’. Using data from a large-scale survey China, paper empirically examines impact on specialization ‘grain-oriented’ farm households’ planting using OLS model, mediated effects 2SLS model. In addition, explores mechanism allocation factors process. This has enriched theoretical practical research development. Studies have shown that contributes significantly The findings also show promotes restructuring among through operations, technological advancement, green there are differences depending type food-producing area, scale operation, development digital infrastructure, education head, source credit. These suggest increasing promoting land improvement, machinery, may be effective path optimizing improving efficiency utilization.
