Abstract The built environment can contribute to the spread of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by facilitating human mobility and social contacts between infected uninfected individuals. However, data capturing detailed interpersonal transmission at a large scale are not available. In this study, we aimed objectively assess influence key factors, which create spaces for activities—“inferred activity” rather than “actually observed activity”—on COVID-19 across townships in China its initial stage through random forest approach. Taking 2994 township-level administrative units, is measured two indicators: ratio cumulative infection cases (RCIC), coefficient variation (CVIC) that reflects policy effect spread. Accordingly, selected 19 explanatory variables covering factors (urban facilities, land use, transportation infrastructure), level nighttime activities, inter-city population flow (from Hubei Province). We investigated spatial agglomerations based on an analysis bivariate local indicators association RCIC CVIC. found agglomeration (or positive autocorrelations) CVIC about 20% all under study. density convenience shops, supermarkets shopping malls (DoCSS), Province) most important explain RCIC, while factor measuring effects (CVIC). When DoCSS gets 21/km 2 , comprehensive hospitals 0.7/km road intersections 72/km gyms sports centers 2/km their impacts reach maximum remain constant with further increases values. Stricter measures should be taken colleges universities higher 0.5/km or 0.25/km order effectively control COVID-19.

In an effort to gauge the global pandemic's impact on social thoughts and behavior, it is important answer following questions: (1) What kinds of topics are individuals groups vocalizing in relation pandemic? (2) Are there any noticeable topic trends if so how do these change over time response major events? this paper, through advanced Sequential Latent Dirichlet Allocation model, we identified twelve most popular present a Twitter dataset collected period spanning April 3rd 13th, 2020 United States discussed their growth changes time. These were both robust, that they covered specific domains, not simply events, dynamic, able rising our dataset. They spanned politics, healthcare, community, economy, experienced macro-level time, while also exhibiting micro-level composition. Our approach differentiated itself scale scope study emerging concerning COVID-19 at few works have been achieve. We contributed cross-sectional field urban studies big data. Whereas optimistic towards future, understand unprecedented will lasting impacts society large, impacting only economy or geo-politics, but human behavior psychology. Therefore, more ways than one, research just beginning scratch surface what be concerted into studying history repercussions COVID-19.

Exploring the spatial patterns of COVID-19 transmission and its key determinants could provide a deeper understanding evolution pandemic. The goal this study is to investigate in different periods Singapore, as well their relationship with demographic built-environment factors. Based on reported cases from 23 January 30 September 2020, we divided research time into six phases used autocorrelation analysis, ordinary least squares (OLS) model, multiscale geographically weighted regression (MGWR) dominance analysis explore influencing factors each phase. results showed that differed across time, imported presented random pattern, whereas local clustered pattern. Among selected variables, supermarket density, elderly population hotel business land proportion, park density may be particular fitting indicators explaining pandemic development Singapore. Furthermore, associations between changed dynamically over time. This provides policymakers valuable information for developing targeted interventions certain areas periods.
