Abstract
The
urban
expansion‐induced
heat
can
exacerbate
stress
for
dwellers,
especially
during
waves.
With
a
focus
on
the
intra‐urban
variability
of
islands
(UHIs)
and
thermal
comfort,
parameterization
within
Community
Land
Model
version
5
(CLM5)
was
modified
incorporating
local
climate
zones
(LCZs)
framework,
named
CLM5‐LCZs,
to
simulate
wave
(HW)
event
in
summer
2013.
evaluation
model
performance
demonstrated
that
it

job
simulating
surface
energy
balance
regimes

against
observational
fluxes
