The process of urbanization leads to the rapid expansion construction land and brings a series ecological environmental problems. network, as linear landscape element, is great significance improve quality regional environment. In this study, Morphological Spatial Pattern Analysis (MSPA) model Minimum Cumulative Resistance (MCR) were used construct corridors in central city Fuzhou, use pattern under constraints network was simulated quantified by patch-level simulation (PLUS) tool with results identification corridors. Meanwhile, help InVEST habitat model, different development scenarios compared. show that (1) 19 sources 35 identified; (2) corridors, area forested study 2027 increased 1.57% built-up reduced 0.55% compared 2022; (3) mean value Fuzhou City improved 0.0055 0.0254 2022 natural evolution scenarios, respectively. provides decision-making assistance for from perspective planning.

Ecological security patterns (ESPs) provide a solution for balancing the conflicts between ecological conservation and socio-economic development maintaining sustainable regional development. Identifying ESPs should be matter given attention to in order meet future urban expansion needs. Based on multi-source eco-environmental datasets remote sensing (RS) containing history of land-use patterns, our study incorporated into ESP identification framework reduce potential impact identified (i.e., corridors nodes) reserve space from an perspective. Considering Changsha–Zhuzhou–Xiangtan (CZX) agglomeration, results show that 57 are extracted, within which 36 key mainly distributed Lukou Wangcheng districts Xiangtan Changsha counties; additional 21 built-up area these connect Xiangjiang River or its tributary. In addition, 18 pinch points were identified, located adjacent River, Liuyang Laodao River; 9 barrier at junctions main roads. A comparison with without simulated showed incorporation favoured construction. Furthermore, we discuss rationality application perspective emphasize trade-off conservation, better reflecting forward-looking thinking spatial planning.

The study introduces a new framework integrating Multi Objective Optimization (MOO), Criteria Group Decision Making (MCGDM), and sentiment analysis to improve regional expansion planning, particularly in developing countries. addresses challenges such as governance, resource allocation, public inclusion, aiming make decision-making more transparent adaptive. involves government agencies, experts, communities using relevant variables. model integrated 12 factors 27 criteria within the MOO, encompassing 5 regions 25 subdistricts MCGDM. Additionally, it analyzed 900 citizen comments through employed 9 indicators from 15 regions. results demonstrated high accuracy, achieving score of 0.98. demonstrates that hybrid approach optimizes planning by balancing technical sentiment, leading inclusive outcomes. lays solid foundation for future research practical application, making valuable contributions field decision science, beyond.

Urban green spaces play a critical role in enhancing environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and the well-being of urban populations. However, fragmentation Kuala Lumpur presents significant challenges to sustainable planning adaptation efforts. This study examines policy gaps that hinder effective integration infrastructure into Lumpur’s framework. A qualitative document analysis is conducted assess national policies, guidelines, international best practices related resilience. The findings reveal while Malaysia’s policies accentuate provision spaces, they lack comprehensive enforcement mechanisms, leading inconsistencies implementation. Key include fragmentation, decentralised governance, inadequate financial incentives, absence explicit regulatory frameworks supporting retrofitting. By analysing models, such as United Kingdom’s Green Infrastructure Standards Singapore’s Plan 2030, this identifies strategies could enhance concludes systematic retrofitting framework required address existing ensure strategic development. It recommends adopting practices, strengthening enforcement, fostering cross-sectoral collaboration ecological connectivity. These measures are essential for improving sustainability mitigating adverse effects rapid urbanisation change Lumpur.
