This study reviews 208 representative papers, oral reports, project reports to provide a systematic comprehensive understanding current status future trends research on assessment. The findings reveal that (1) number papers is rapidly increasing, with primarily focused environmental science ecology (n = 157, 75.48%). (2) Quantitative models gaining popularity assessment, more than 46.63% studies adopting data envelopment analysis (DEA) model. (3) definition perspectives diverse, but relative accounts significant proportion. (4) Constructing large complex model incorporates geospatial effects, big data, computer technology hot topic methods. On other hand, conducting global scale conducive SDGs. (5) core improving lies joint implementation multi-pronged measures.

Abstract This study investigates the Dynamic Coupling between Land Use Economic Efficiency (LUEE) and Urban Ecological Resilience (UER) in Yellow River Basin (YRB). exploration is pivotal for elucidating interaction mechanisms economic growth ecological governance. Furthermore, understanding this relationship essential fostering high-quality, sustainable urban development YRB. Utilizing panel data from 56 cities spanning 2003 to 2020, employed coupling coordination degree (CCD) model, spatial correlation analysis, Kernel density estimation, convergence Geodetector systematically analyze spatio-temporal distribution, dynamic trend, determinants of CCD LUEE UER The findings indicate that: (1) A general upward trend both UER, accompanied by a steady improvement their CCD. (2) Significant disparities CCD, with higher levels lower reaches. (3) Marked positive autocorrelation, predominantly characterized clusters where high (low) values are surrounded values. (4) Regarding impact individual factors, government fiscal budget expenditure demonstrates most robust explanatory power within Concerning effects two-factor interactions, interplay industrial structure upgrading emerges as significant determinant influencing UER. enhances our comprehensive systems. It offers scientific insights strategic direction harmonizing governance at regional global scales.

Optimizing urban land use is of significant practical importance for promoting economic development, enhancing the standard living individuals residing in metropolitan areas, infrastructure and public services, driving transformation upgrading, attaining synchronized progress economy, society, environment. This paper uses super-efficiency SBM model to measure efficiency (ULUE) 13 cities Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (BTH) agglomeration from 2005 2020 explores spatiotemporal evolution characteristics influencing factors ULUE this using analysis spatial data application geographic detector methods. The results show that (1) 2020, BTH had an initial rise followed by a decline; however, overall score above 1, suggesting effective state; (2) distribution pattern with Beijing as its core was established, exhibiting greater northern region poorer southern region, correlation values between adjacent cities; (3) capital input, labor social welfare, ecological environment are all promote improvement interaction any two explains better than single factor. empirical research can provide useful references improving input–output ratio units further planning policy formulation region.

The urban landscape is being affected by rapid urbanization, leading to a complexity of land features and fragmentation patches. However, many studies have focused on the prediction land-use change with lack research character types which more integrated descriptions features. Hence, this study predicts identifies (LCTs) in different periods based PLUS model K-Medoids algorithm, taking central city Chongqing as an example, reveal differences influence driving factors LCTs. results show that (1) characteristic present gradient from built-up area outward expansion. (2) SHDI LPI decreased significantly expansion construction land. (3) Nighttime light, distance water bodies, motorways are main affecting types. This quantifies impact character. It can be used guide planning help governments make informed decisions sustainable development ecological conservation.

For decades, the continuous advance of urbanization has led to expansion urban land and rapid increase in total area cities. The phenomenon faster than population growth become widespread. High density can lead problems such as traffic congestion exacerbated air pollution hinder sustainable development, affecting quality life residents. China is currently a phase urbanization, with high decline density. decrease conducive promoting development. This study selected 34 cities sample analyzed spatial changes using use data from 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020 order provide reference for controlling conclusions are follows: In cities, average radius was only 11.61 km but reached 17.98 2020, an annual rate 2.5%. There were significant differences expansion. Beijing Shanghai, most developed China, had radii exceeding 40 km, while less Liaoyang Suzhou 9 km. Although decreased values first-tier Tianjin, Beijing, continued rise. Cities loose patterns decreases compact-type negatively correlated density, that also having declines artificial ground

As an essential tool to evaluate land use sustainability, functions (LUFs) have become a hot topic in the field of science for promoting sustainable regional development. Previous studies focused more on interaction analysis among LUFs and zoning management LUFs, ignoring importance geospatial characteristics development patterns. In this study, series methods were adopted identify abrupt changes Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB), including agglomeration, coordination, inequality. Finally, we combined evaluation results distinguish patterns provinces urban agglomerations (UAs). The findings show that occurred 2002 2013, experienced three stages: sharp decline, rapid rise, steady from 1990 2018. There was significant agglomeration low value areas, gradually high areas over time. coordination exhibited moderately coordinated, which higher east than west, though gap has been narrowing. major contributor LUF inequality within province rather them, so did UAs. All UAs classified into radiation-driven, multi-core driven, stable, low-level ones. Our research provides reference large-scale management.

Rapid urbanization often exerts massive pressure on the resources relied upon by ecological environment. It is necessary to quickly evaluate interaction and mutual influence between regional This paper uses Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform, integrates MODIS night light remote sensing data sets, computes sensing-based index (RSEI) coupling coordination degree (CCD) measure analyze spatiotemporal changes in Chengdu–Chongqing Economic Circle (CCEC) for 2010, 2015, 2020. Our results demonstrate four key findings. Firstly, CCD varies spatially; it peaks at Chengdu West Chongqing Plains, decreasing outwards along mountains, with lowest of central, southern, northern edge areas CCEC. Additionally, has shown a trend maintaining unchanged first then increasing, mainly responding policy decisions. Secondly, different levels were almost stable occurred adjacent levels. Thirdly, level towns spreads from centers an overall upward time. Fourthly, most recent year, types present distribution pattern one developing axis connected two peaks. Specifically, environment system lagging type aggregates Chengdu, Chongqing, their surrounding areas, others are economic type. The high internal also occurs low Under this context, constructive suggestions developmental optimization study area proposed.
